Gamertag taken?

Discus and support Gamertag taken? in XBoX Accessibility to solve the problem; So i was looking to change my gamer tag to match my name on other sites but the name i want AcidicDragon is taken and has been inactive for 13 years....     So i was looking to change my gamer tag to match my name on other sites but the name i want AcidicDragon is taken and has been inactive for 13 years. Is there any way i can get this gamer tag?

    Gamertag Taken But Not Taken??

    if the system says it's taken, then it's taken. The tag system is in use on other Microsoft services, so even if it's not in use on an Xbox, it may be in use somewhere else. The system also doesn't see things like spaces as making a gamertag unique. So while
    you might look up "gamertag" and it doesn't show up, it might actually be in use as "gamer tag".

    They could be in use on the Zune, as that shares the 'gamertag' system.

    I have some old gamertags that I want to reuse but need to wait on Microsoft to clear them up. If you send the gamertag you want a friend invite from a tag that you are using it will show as a pending friend request. If the gamertag is being used it will
    be either accepted or rejected, but if it just disapears then it has been made available for use again.

    Disappointing. But it still doesn't explain why this site said it was available when it was giving me available suggestions.
