Gamertag showing on email

I have recently noticed that my Xbox gamertag is showing as my name attached to my emails.

When I send or receive an email it will display my email address and then my gamertag.

When I go into my emails to change the name to my own, in attempt to try an resolve the issue. It will show my name already on there.

Can someone help. I still want my Xbox account to stay linked to my email and my gamertag but I don't want it to be displayed in my emails.

Hello again, given your situation is unusual, I will recommend that you contact Xbox support so that they can analyze your account.

Go to: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us/

See the bottom left part of the page and make sure that the page has the correct region that you are in (ex: United States - English for USA)

If not, click on it then select the correct region that you are in.

Check and confirm that you are within the available time of support under Contact times.

Click Contact us

Select the drop-down menu options that will match your concern.

On the page, see the provided support articles that may help you with your concern. Click See contact options if further assistance is needed.

On the next page, select either Chat online or Request a call option then follow or enter the needed details.

Hello again, Click on the link below and log in with your Xbox account.

You should enter the Xbox profile screen, see the image below and make sure you have your Gamertag at the top and your real name at the bottom.

if you have the Gamertag at the bottom, it's because you put the Gamertag as if it were your real name and you have to Change it in your account and you can also hide it where it says: Privacy Settings"

Here is an example of the issue. This is an email I received, my gamertag is dispayed on the right. This happens whenever I have an email sent to me, having it sent direct or me being cc in the email.

If I send the email, my gamertag is shown alongside my email address.

My gamertag is at the top and real name at the bottom. I have been in all the settings on both Xbox and outlook but the issue is still there.

Hello Hannah, this is really strange, because by definition when you enter the e-mail account it shows the e-mail normally and your real name if you have entered one in the account, the Gamertag only appears when you are in the Xbox profile.

As the Microsoft/Xbox account is one, it makes this distinction in the preview.

When it says your Gamertag appears in the email, is it in the email you're writing or in the upper right corner where you login?
