Gamertag resets are lies

I have been told numerous times as well as researched into this throughout the years, so I know the truth. Xbox announced a tag reset during 2016 which is not a lie however the whole “6 year inactivity, we’ll release that tag” is lies. I have an account
of which i have nor touched since 2007, haven’t signed in or used for anything else. I regularly check on support chats to see if “theres been any activity” of which i know i have not.

I do love xbox but come’on

Most of the ones that were inactive in previous resets were gamertags that were created on the original Xbox and had never been migrated over to the 360. Other than that, I'm not sure what other criteria they used to determine which ones were released
although not all inactive tags were released.

Okay, so how inactive where the gamertags reset in 2016? That would’ve still made mine 9 years inactive. Its currently 12 years I believe..

There has never been a policy that a gamertag will be released after 6 years of inactivity. However, there is a rule that states a gamertag will be released after 5 years of inactivity. Since that started in 2016, the earliest you would see the tags freed
up is 2021.

Its the gamertag Li and some numbers, i wanted to have my Gt as Li 009 and it wouldn’t let me because the name Li is considered profanity.
