Gamertag replacement

I have paid to change my gamertag, but each time I sign into xbox live, my account still shows the old gamertag. How long does it take for the change to be reflected in my account, or has something stuffed up?

I am using windows 8 and have logged out and back in without result

Try to sign out and sign in again and if that doesn't works wait 24 hrs for the change to be reflected.

If that doesn't work you would need to contact support. (800) 469-9269 if you're in the US/Canada or Contact Us | Xbox Support

Jason, I understand. In this situation, there are only two possibilities. You either are logging in with the incorrect email, or someone changed your email.

Sincerely, I think you may be using the wrong email, the wrong domain ( using for example Gmail instead of Outlook or Hotmail ), or something like that. This can happen a lot, so I recommend you to try and check all your emails and see if you did not get things mixed up.

There is no way for two accounts/gamertag to be under the same email, so this is the most likely situation.

In case you are extremely certain of your email, I recommend you to try to contact Support and explain the situation, okay? Here in the community, we have no access to account/billing information.

The problem choice you choose on the Support link might not give you access to Request a Call or Live Chat, and in this case, try selecting other problems ( even if does not match the issue you are facing ) because what is important here is for you to contact Support. So do this until the contact options appear, okay?

If you do it correctly you can do it riggt the first time without waiting 30days

so gamertag 1 has ms account 1

and gamertag 2 has ms account 2

so you need an ms account 3

So you change gamertag 2 with ms account 2 with ms account 3

then replace gamertag 1 with ms account 2 and then wait for the 30days to replace ms account 3 for gamertag 2

so replace gamertag 2 and ms account 2
