Gamertag Recycling

Hey buds I know this gets asked alot, but this is something that has to be done, I understand that someone should have the full rights to a gamertag and I feel like the account owner should have the rights to a gamertag if it was atleast migrated to the
x360, many people dont know this but original xbox accounts are no longer migratable, so if i owned the email to one of these tags and if i tried to go on xbox.com with that email it would give me a random generated tag since in 2010 they shut down the original
xbox servers and they dont have to delete the windows live ids but just the gamertag as the people who own them cannot even access it anymore if you are aware of that, and I understand account sellers could be a problem thats why they shouldnt release it to
the public and you should have to ask support if they are recycling tags, some of the emails on the account are still active but that really doesnt matter as they have actually lost their chance to redeem their account since original xbox servers are down
and the tags literally just float in space well just trying to get that out there thanks.

Yeah but the gamertag isnt in use anymore when you go to look up the gamertag I want no profile comes up

You are correct, this has been brought up before. However, the problem with this Is that in order to get a Gamertag you must have it linked to Xbox Live. Now you are required to uses a Microsoft Account. With the Gmaertag that's what has all their information
and any extra things. Right now the Enforcement Team is the only people who can change the Gamertags. The Enforcement Team most likely will not take someone's gamertag away and give them a Generated one. Also, your correct most of the people picked a Gamertag
that they liked. Even though they don't or may not use it often. With a Gamertag that is the main thing that represents who you are on Xbox and its services. People use it as a personal thing too. I do understand what perspective you're coming from. Xbox Live
will not do that anytime soon. Plus, a lot of Gamertags are reserved for reasons. Keep the good idea coming to help build and improve Xbox & its services. If you have any more questions and or concerns please let us know!

Also just to add! Most of the good Gamertags that you may see have been paid for or used their one free change. Microsoft would need to refund people if they took their gamertag away too! At that point that would cause a extreme problems as well legal problems.
Since Microsoft does not give re-funds back for Gamertags. I hope you have a great day!
