Gamertag Question

When we first got our Xbox One we signed up with a family account. We had (and still do have) Xbox Gold and the main account holder changed that main accounts gamertag. Then our daughter signed up and we got a message saying that we couldn't do that because
only one gamertag change was allowed for free. We paid to have our daughters name changed that time. A third account for another family member, we just discovered, was allowed to change the gamertag today. Our daughter wanted to change hers again too. When
she first went through the process online (using a web browser) she got all the way through the process (including account verification stuff) and it didn't work. So she went back to try again, and it insisted on charging her.

What I don't understand is why we paid that one time (the first time our daughter changed her name) but now are able to change the third account without paying. It seems like we shouldn't have paid that first time (on the daughters account) at all, but it
made us because the main one had already changed. It's inconsistent and makes no sense.

Is there something I'm missing? Should I be asking for either a free gamertag name change or a refund? It's no biggie, it's only 10 bucks, but it's annoyingly inconsistent.

Xbox One Gamesharing specific question

We have 3 xbox ones and 3 gamertags.

If Console A belongs to Gamertag A, and likewise with B and C

We buy a game with Console/Gamertag A

Console/Gamertag B sets Console A as its home console and downloads that game.

*Here's the question*

Can Console/Gamertag B then switch its home console to Console C and still be able to play the game downloaded from Console/Gamertag A.

OG Gamertag question.

I just got this gamertag I've been trying to get for a year or so. I would like to know if it is an OG Gamertag. It is "Spiffy".

The free gamertag change is only available if you were given a randomly generated tag when you create an account and are changing that tag for the first time. So if your original account already had a tag you had chosen then it would not have been eligible
for the free change.

Gamer tag is the same as gamertag or Gamertag

But to find a name you have to be very very specific and have the exact spelling that's why you aren't seeing it and saying it's is in use

There is millions of possibilities in varitians

You are just going to have to be more creative it's that simple

If a person doesn't sign into their account for 5 years (starting in 2016), their gamertag will be reset. Otherwise, the only other way it would be reset is if the owner changes it to something else.

Keep in mind that the gamertag system is in use on other Microsoft services. So even if it's not in use on an Xbox, it may be in use somewhere else.

remember the gamertag can be used by all 4 services

games for windows live and xbox for windows live

zune and xbox live

you cannot send a friend request on xbox live and find out if its available

you need to try and change it that's the only way to check

also spaces don't maker a name different

just be creative with the spelling like replacing o with 0s or e's with 3

gamertag not valid just means either you didn't have the right SPACES or its being used on another ms service just not XBOX

If your GT was offensive the XBL PET would have issued you an FNC (Forced Name Change) when they removed the other offensive content from your profile and/or when you were Gamer Score Reset for
cheating.
