    Gamertag/Profile reset??


    Hi, i sold my xbox 360 about a year ago and recently bought another and decided to return to gaming. I went to "recover" my gamertag and, upon typing in the info for my associated microsoft account, the "profile" that it downloaded is NOT the gamertag I
    had been using for years before. It is a completely random name and has no gamerscore, no friends, no messages etc.

    How do I get my old gamertag back? Did someone hack my account or something?

    Gamer profile issue

    Problem solved created a new sdult profile and linked it old gamertag. Then changed settings and now can play online!

    no what happened was you did not enter the correct email/password and when you did that the system gave you a new account with a random generated tag with no game score or game history. you will have to contact support to help get your old account back

    Changing my gamertag

    They've only ever reset gamertags from the Original Xbox service that hadn't been moved over. Otherwise they don't regularly reset tags.

    Also, the gamertag system does not see things like spaces as making a gamertag unique. So even though you may look one up one way and can't find it, that doesn't mean it's not on the system with different spacing. In your case, the tag is in use here -
