    Hello, I am trying to add Minecraft capability to my son's PC to go with his XBox 360 One Minecraft game. Unfortunately, when I bought and installed it thru Windows 10 the gamertag we got was somehow HorribleCamp129 - ick! - instead of ClarkAllenRobot, as on XBox. (We are using the same Live account.) I try to change it to ClarkAllenRobot where the Windows Minecraft takes me - to the XBox Console Companion app - and it says I can't use it, but must limit to 12 characters or less. I then try ClarkARobot but it says if I do that it changes everything everywhere and ClarkAllenRobot gets freed up for others to use (???). So it's usable but not and I'm so confused.     Recently gamertag requirements have been updated, but old gamertags that did not meet the new criteria remain unchanged, but if you are going to change your gamertag, it has to meet the new requirements! So, even if your old gamertag gets freed up for use, other players will not be acle to use it, since it does not meet the new requirements!

    We updated new Xbox gamertags to support a 12-character max, Unicode-based name of your choice, with an auto-generated suffix if the gamertag is shared. We offer 13 different alphabets for gamers, which support more than 200 languages worldwide.

    Note Existing gamertags remain unchanged with no suffix. No action is necessary unless you want to make a change.

    New Xbox players or those who want to change their gamertag can claim one of their choice, up to 12 characters. If a gamertag is already taken, a suffix with numbers is attached to differentiate you from other people with the same gamertag. Suffixes are subtle so that the focus is on the name you chose, but they are always shown.

    If you do decide to change your existing gamertag, be aware that you may lose it to someone else.

    I own Minecraft Bedrock Edition for the Xbox One and I would like to play it on my PC.

    To be able to play Minecraft on a pc you will need to purchase the game for Windows 10, as it is not a play anywhere title unfortunatly.

    It is crossplay enable between Xbox One, mobile, Windows 10 and Nintendo Switch.

    Minecraft Bedrock edition is not a PlayAnywhere title. You will need to purchase the game for Windows 10 unfortunatly.

    It is crossplay enabled between Windows 10, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and mobile. Where you can use the same account to play.
