    Hallo,

    Ik sukkel nu al een tijd lang met volgend probleem;

    Een vijf tot tien jaar geleden woonden ik en mijn beste vriend samen op een studentenkot, ik heb toen mijn eerste xbox 360 gekocht en heb dan een nieuw account aangemaakt, omdat ik toen geen geldig e-mailadres kon invoeren heb ik dus het e-mailadres gebruikt
    van mijn beste vriend. Nu zijn we zoveel jaren verder en staat mijn gamertag nog steeds gelinkt aan zijn account. Hij heeft nu ook zijn eigen xbox en al een paar jaren zijn eigen account. Het e-mailadres waar mijn account aan gelinkt is is nu zijn werkmail.
    Vandaar dat we beiden wensen om mijn gamertag te transfereren naar mijn huidig microsoft account.

    Ik ben nu al weken aan het proberen dit te doen en nog steeds boek ik geen succes. Ondertussen heb ik het zelf geprobeerd via een xbox 360 maar daar krijg ik steeds een foutcode als ik mijn gamertag wens te transfereren naar een ander, nieuw account. Eerlijk
    gezegd vind ik dit ridicuul. We zijn 2020 en nog steeds kan zoiets niet opgelost geraken? Overal op het internet vind ik mensen met hetzelfde probleem. Ik wens ook geen primair alias te maken op zijn account want het is tenslotte zijn werkmail...

    Zijn er nog opties?

    Aangezien een account wel kan overgezet worden wanneer het gehackt is kan ik me niet voorstellen dat de tech-gigant microsoft hier nog geen oplossing voor voorzien heeft. En zo niet, vind ik dit nogmaals absurd.

    Ik ben al heel lang xbox-fan maar dit voelt toch aan als een doorn in het oog, eerlijk gezegd.

    I've been struggling with the next problem for a while now;

    A five to ten years ago, me and my best friend lived together in a student room, i bought my first xbox 360 and then created a new account, because I couldn't enter a valid email address then So I used my best friend's email address. Now we are so many years
    further and my gamertag is still linked to his account. He now also has his own xbox and for a few years his own account. The email address my account is linked to is now his work email. That's why we both wish to transfer my gamertag to my current microsoft
    account.

    I've been trying to do this for weeks now and I'm still not making a success. In the meantime, I tried it myself via an xbox 360 but there I always get an error code if I wish to transfer my gamertag to another new account. Honestly, I think this is ridicuul.
    We're 2020 and still can't get something like this solved? Everywhere on the internet I find people with the same problem. I also don't want to create a primary alias on his account because it's his work email, after all...

    Are there any options?

    Since an account can be transferred when it's been hacked, I can't imagine that the tech giant microsoft hasn't yet provided a solution for this. And if not, I find this absurd again.

    I've been an Xbox fan for a long time but this still feels like an eyesore, honestly.

    What Brad has suggested is probably the best solution, though you say it's not an option for you and your friend. This is a unique situation and there usually isn't much help for us when we find a unique situation or issue. You can contact Xbox Support https://beta.support.xbox.com/contact-us and
    explain the situation. However, there is high volume of support requests and very limited phone or chat support.

    You can also try working through this Xbox Support page below, on changing information on an account, which is the same as what Brad mentioned. What you can do is read through it all, and click No on Did This Resolve Your Issue so that it will generate further
    troubleshooting steps.

    I know that the time spent and the value of the account is very important. Maybe if none of this help you and your friend can come up with a creative solution so you can still play your games, and they can maintain thier work account.

    Hi Wannes,

    Thanks for all the replies. We wish there was something we could do for this situation. But lets take a minute and think if this was possible. This would take a team of people to manage, to take one profile, remove everything associated to that gamertag.
    Now move to the new email, lets say already has a gamertag. Now that needs to be moved, or deleted. Then after that is done, then put the data you wanted on the account. This is just for one person. Times that by lets say 1,000. That is way too much data to
    mess with and potentially may end up corrupt in the end and then the data is no good to anyone. So to make it easy Microsoft/Xbox has made it policy to not transfer data from one account to another. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience.

    Again, this shouldn't be a hard thing to do.

    This should be a thing where customer service says; okay we get this done. We respect your identity.

    Seriously guys, what a mess.

    Lifelong xbox-fan here, had the original, have the 2 xbox 360's (standard white one and an elite), had1 basic xbox one, now i have 1xbox elite and 1 xbox one x.

    I have all the halo's collectors editions, even the controllers!

    Don't let me down and fix this!

    First of all; thank you for your response!

    But, this is NOT an unique situation. If you go on reddit or other forums you will see hundreds, maybe thousands, of comments like this. So don't condescens me in uniqueniss. THIS is your community!

    Second; there is no high traffic in Belgium on your helpdesk. I talked with two people today, none of them could help me. Just like you. Or you are lying or you are misinformed? This is a fact.

    I only request an honest response: can you fix it or not?

    So please, i beg you, please, help me or forward me to your boss or manager or any person that can help me. I really had it with this **** after so much months and years. And otherwise; i'm going to the competition. This problem should be easily resolved! On
    xbox 360 it was possible, when your hacked; it's possible, so why it's not as a standard feature?

    The account is on someone else his name and he still needs it under his name for work. So changing my alias to a primary one is not an option... cause it effects the whole account.

    I really can't understand why there isn't a simple solution for this. This should be a normal thing to do cause literally hundreds or maybe thousands of people are requesting this feature because they used the e-mail account of their parents in the past.

    If an account is hacked there is the possibilty to recover the data and move it to a new account, or so i read. So why couldn't be this a normal feature? I have literally spend hundreds of hours on this account and have more then 60000 gamer score and still
    my xbox greets me with the wrong name when i start it up. I just want to have what is mine on my account.
