Gamertag not changing?

Paid for a change a few days ago, how long does the process normally take?

Have you tried removing your profile and then re-adding it. If that doesn't work try this. Remove the profile and then do a hard reset. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord
from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational re-add the profile and test to see if worked. Let us know. Good Luck!!

^^ No.All your saves etc. are stored separately on your hard drive & on the cloud if you are connected to live.

It's perfectly safe to remove your profile & redown;oad it,you wont lose anything.

It can usually take up to 24 hours but it's taking longer at the moment due to the amount of people changing their gamertags.

If it's still the same after another 24 hours post back & i'll pm one of the official support staff to have a look for you.

I have payment confirmation, and have been charged the $10 already. I think I did this Wednesday....

 

You may need to get in touch with a support person regarding this issue if the gamertag change still doesn't push through after 24hrs.

What you have to do is go through the website again and claim that gamertag again if you did it on a computer. It happened to me too. It charged my $10 and didn't change my name so I had to come back to the website and claim it again. When you hit "Claim
It!" it will change instantly so remember to search the gamertag with your desired capitalization or else you'll have an ugly gamertag like mine (which is all lowercase). Best of luck to you sir

I'm having the same issue as well, I claimed my new one, and was charged for it, but it has never changed over (was charged on May 21st). I spoke to someone in the chat support and have a reference # for the issue -

You can try the solution above. Try to claim it again from the website. You shouldn't be charged again for it.

 

I tried but it said the name I chose has already been taken.
