Gamertag not Changing

I paid to have my Gamertag changed last night (about 18 hours ago) and my Gamertag still has not changed. Would this be due to my Xbox one power settings set to Instant on?

No, Changing your gamertag is not required. Changing your gamertag is all up to you

Gamertag not changing?

I have payment confirmation, and have been charged the $10 already. I think I did this Wednesday....

Hello Marty83,

Can your friends see you'r new gamer tag? Or are you the only one that can see the change yourself? This could be caused by the Xbox live server's last time i changed my gamer tag it took 3-4 days before the change was in effect. If both sides cant see
a change I would log on to xbox.com to see if you can see the change on there. Was this change done via Credit Card or a gift card purchase?

I talked to a mate in my friends list and he says the old Gamertag is still showing up on his end. It is also displaying the old one currently for these posts.

I might have to wait 3-4 days like you did? It's a shame it takes so long...

Yah did you see the credit card transactions on your statement check that as well if it is a prepaid card sometimes they will put a charge on hold until the payment clears before changing. I would check with xbox support in about 3 days if it has not changed
then.

It shows up in the transactions for my xbox account. The transaction is pending on my credit card statement, but i have purchased games and dlc etc and been able to play them while the transactions are pending before.

No it has not changed yet. I checked my emails and I have a receipt for the transaction but It still has not changed.

Yes, changing the gamertag again should be possible, als changing back to your previous Gamertag is possible, as long as your original Gamertag isn't already taken by somebody else.

Keep in mind each change will require a payment.

I'm afraid there are no free gamertag changes, if a gamertag was deemed to break the CoC/ToU then you will given a generated one and if you want to change the gamertag into something chosen by yourself it will have the fee like any gamertag change.
