Gamertag not Changing.

Just recently I decided to change my gamertag from '' to 'Sir Walrus V'. I have never changed my gamertag on this account before, so it said I could change it once for free, however after I entered the security code it asked for I saw my gamertag
had not changed, so i went back to change it again but it asked for me to pay this time.

The new gamertag was available, I clicked claim it and found the code in the email it sent. This really annoys me seeing as I was promised a free change and I do not want to pay to change my name.

Why is it not changing? how do I fix that?

No, Changing your gamertag is not required. Changing your gamertag is all up to you

You have to pay for it

You werent actually promised a free gamertag where so you see a free gamertag

A security code has to be entered when you havent logined in a pc you never did before

Thrrr is no free namechange unless you have an new account and within the first 30days

And yes that is im the support page

Only free gamertag changes are only given to the new accounts because they are given randomly gemerated ones

When you say you entered the code you mean security code

Id eead the article you read

It is not for the first change

But when you werent given an option to pick a name and within the first 30days

And no there wss never a promise of a free name change if you read it on a blog dont trust them

You will simply have to pay and no the screen will never say you get a free name change

Once you try and change a name if from a randomly generated name from account creation then it will list no price

Since you have a custom name that isnt an option

You can easily change your Xbox Live gamertag. If your
gamertag was created for you during your initial Xbox Live sign-up (meaning, you did not choose your gamertag), you can change the gamertag one time for free. Additional Xbox Live gamertag changes cost extra.

I see, well I guess I just misunderstood when it said "change once for free." I have never gotten on this website before so I don't really know how everything works. I usually just get on and play,not much else, as I am mostly a PC gamer/programmer. I apologize

Yes, changing the gamertag again should be possible, als changing back to your previous Gamertag is possible, as long as your original Gamertag isn't already taken by somebody else.

Keep in mind each change will require a payment.

I'm afraid there are no free gamertag changes, if a gamertag was deemed to break the CoC/ToU then you will given a generated one and if you want to change the gamertag into something chosen by yourself it will have the fee like any gamertag change.
