    Gamertag not changing after purchase


    As of Friday the 20th of August, I purchased Gamertag change on my account RecoiI 0 (recoii 0). I wanted to change my name through my Xbox but was giving an error message saying "this Gamertag cannot be used or is already active". After doing so I changed
    it a couple of times until I found a name that I wanted (the image is of the error message and a Gamertag I couldn't use 'Xp' in games). I clicked purchase (after filling out my my card credentials) and it loaded then gave the same error message. I checked
    my bank statement and It shows that there is a pending purchase on my Microsoft Gamertag change for £7.99. But On my Xbox the Gamertag is still available. I don't want to purchase it again as there's a pending transaction. Could I please get some advice to
    solve my problem as I'm unsure whether or not I have bought the name change.

    for any new account the first gamertag change will be free in the first 30 days after account creation. After that all voluntary changes will have to be purchased.

    You can change your gamertag once for free when your gamertag was first created. If you want to change your gamertag after that you'll have to purchase a new gamertag. This can only be done through the Xbox dashboard and it will cost 800 Microsoft Points.

    Gamertag's cannot be changed to free up used tags even after a specific period of time due to the possibly of purchases linked to it.

    I think you need to allow her online purchases for this as changing a gamertag is being charged. So allow this to her account and set up the restrictions back after changing it.

    Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, you only get one free Gamertag change when you create an account, and any change after that will require a purchase.
