Gamertag Not Available

Hi im trying to change my gamertag but i am currently getting the message that its not available. I called support and they told me the gamertag was released with the recent gamertag release that happened with xbox. I was told to contact this forum so that
you guys could help me change my gamertag. My current gamertag is " and i want to change it to "Blurry". My recent forum was deleted and i dont understand why when i posted about the gamertag not being available and i never received an email or anything.

I Have the same problem as you have I Want so bad that gamertag....I will wait some days to see if something changes I hope I get that gamer tag

Gamertags are not used solely for Xbox accounts. They are also used for Zune and Games for Windows. Since they are not an on-demand service there is no purging timeframe for inactive gamertags. All you can do is keep checking the availability periodically.

If when you search here the GT comes up as taken, there is no way to claim it as it has already been taken. It's possible the current user has added spaces to it which is why it may not come up when you search on the console. No one on the forums can change
the tag for you. Sorry for the frustrations.

 

Also support does not know which gamertag were released as they don't have access to that info

You can search all you want but with the infinite combinations if the system says it's taken then it's taken

You will just have to be more creative with the spelling

FYI if you try ngoc phi or both won't show on add friends

You have to have the exact case and spacing to find a name

 

Well i was told to contact the forums about my situation because the gamertag is being reserved by someone that isnt paying for it.

 

Unfortunately support tends to give incorrect information when it comes to gamertags. If the system is saying it's taken, there is nothing that can be done even if the person who owns it is not actively using it.

 

It dosent say taken it says unavailable and when i search the profile there is none

 

Again you can search all you want but it's annininfte possible of combinations

If the system says it's not available it doesn't matter if you can't find the name name the system says otherwise

Searching for a friend means nothing if the system says no you cannot take it

Xbox support has no say

As Ientitled above it is impossible for you tonfijdnall combinations or variations as there is 1000s

 

As mentioned before you cannot find all combinations as it's is impossijle

If the system says no then it's is a no

It is not an on demand service nor are you entitled to take away any name that doesn't belong to you the other person has it it is that simple

 

Or its a banned list name in which case you need to read the terms of use

 

Implied anything or anything m rated isn't allowed or any drug or m rated topica

 

There is no public list you can see you will just have to search for a better name or be more creative with the spelling
