Gamertag name on PC using Xbox Game Pass

Hi there!

I just recently bought the Xbox Game Pass to be able to play Sea of Thieves on my computer, and logged into my own email account (lets call it 'R') to be able to purchase this. After loading into the game, I've realised that it has the gamertag name of one
of my other email accounts (lets call it 'N') my family member had (named something along the lines of 'Lotuslady'), despite me logging into my own personal account. I then logged into the xbox website on the first account (being the R email) I originally
logged into in the first place and changed the given gamertag (the default one where it has an adjective, a noun and a couple of letters) into the gamertag I wanted.

Going back into Sea of Thieves on my PC, it still remained as Lotuslady, so I figured I'd go onto the secondary account (N) on xbox and change it from there. On the gamertag personalisation, it said my name was Lotuslady, and upon hitting customise gamertag,
it then said my name was the name I changed it to just before on the N's email account, despite not changing my name on this account. I tried to change it from this, to ANOTHER new name and it said it couldn't be done as I had to pay $10 to do so.

My problem here lies in the fact that Microsoft automatically connected me to the N email account despite me logging into my new one, R in the first place, and thus, I have bought the Xbox Game Pass and downloaded Sea of Thieves on this account I did not
want it on, and can now no longer change my gamertag without paying money, despite it saying that my name was already changed to the new name I dubbed it.

Sorry but I'm afraid that the Game Pass can only be shared on the Xbox. On the PC only the gamertag that purchased the pass can use it

I have found a solution to the PC game pass sharing problem.

Here are the steps I used to play game pass on pc with the membership belonging to someone else in my family.

1. Download the xbox beta app on windows.

2. Log in on the windows store on your pc with the account that purchased the game pass ultimate subscription.

3. Open the xbox beta app, you should be able to log in with any xbox account, I think.

4. When you have logged in with your xbox account click on your gamertag image in the app and then click again on your gamertag name, you shoule now see a menu with the game pass ownership and the gamertag of who bought it and the xbox live account that
can play the games above that, there you can also see when your subscription ends.

I wonder why no microsoft agents/ moderators on the forum know this.

Hello Jonathan, the Game Pass subscription you own is console only, if it is it will not appear on pc, there are 3 game pass modes, the Ultimate that can be played on PC, console and xCloud, Game Pass for PC and Game Pass for console
