GamerTag linked to another person EA Account

I never had my EA account linked to my Xbox gamertag. I never played games that required that, so at some point 5 or 6 years ago my xbox account was compromised. At that time the person linked my gamertag to their EA account. Microsoft didn't notify me this
happened. They did nothing. Now I purchased Madden NFL 19 only to find out that I can't login to EA.

Yes this seems like an EA issue, how ever EA said since the EA account that is linked to my Gamertag was never my own I can do nothing about it, I've tried for a week now. I will continue to try but the information they want is only information from the
EA account that's linked and nothing to do with my Gamertag.

EA on the phone said if I changed my gamertag that would unlink my account and I could then link it up to my EA account. I paid microsoft to do that service, but it still didn't fix the problem!

Microsoft said they can do nothing about it. So according to both companies they have a system that links two identities but has no way to actual communicate and verify what is going on. This is Identity theft to some degree. I can't afford a lawyer and
want to know if anyone has any ideas of what I can do.

Yeah, went through this 4 times already through their web-form and on the phone with them. They won't do anything since I was never the account holder for the EA account. that's the only information they'll verify.

Im having the exact same issue. EA has been absolutely no help and were down right rude when trying to asl for their help. If you find a away around their ridiculous policy that basically just has them tell us were screwed please let me know.

Only EA would be able to unlink the EA account. You need to speak to them. Changing your gamertag wont do anything as the linked account will still use the same Microsoft account and use your new gamertag

Someone at the help center directed me to the link below. It allowed me to stop permissions for the EA account that was connected but not my own. Still have to deal with the EA side of things but it seems to be helping out.
