Gamertag I've been trying to change to has been derelict since Xbox original days

There is a Gamertag I've been trying to change to has been derelict since Xbox original days. It has 0 friends, 0 games played, 0 gamerscore, and no gamer pic.

I have contacted support about this, and they said that the tag in question should have been part of the purge, but must have gotten missed.

I was told to post here so the higher ups would PM me and help me out with this.

I do not want to post the tag here as someone may steal it from me. I own this handle on every other platform that there is, and I want to have my Xbox live account be the same name.

Can a support specialist help me get in contact with the right people?

Unused XBOX Gamertags

I'm trying to change my Gamertag from vVv NBK to just NBK. NBK is already a used gamertag, but has not been used since the original XBOX was on XBOX Live. I know gamertag resetting isn't an on demand service, but happens from time to time. When might this
happen for this gamertag?

Getting 30 day error when trying to transfer Live ID on Gamertag

I'm trying to transfer gamertag that was created by accident to another Live ID so I can transfer my real gamertag to my main Live ID. When I try to transfer the gamertag that was created by accident to another Live ID I get an error that states that I can't
transfer because it's been less then 30 days since account change or has been created. The gamertag was created by accident on March 1st 2012, it has been more then 30 days. I've talked to Xbox support several times(mostly via chat) and even have SRN 1174566478
but pretty much been told that this is my only option.

No one from Microsoft reads these forums.

I'm not sure why support told you to post here or that the tag should of been freed up,it's nothing to do with them & gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live so just because it has 0 Gamerscore etc. doesn't mean it's not in use

The free Gamertag change on a new Xbox Live account lasts for 30 days. Since you mentioned it's been a few years since that account was created, that would be the cause for the charge popping up. Here's a different

Change Gamertag page to try out. If the free option does not pop up, then the $9.99 charge will be required to change your Gamertag. Gamertags cannot be removed from a Microsoft Account once it has been set.

I strongly recommend you request a refund for it, and once approved, try to change it one more time if you still want to do it.

Hello XA DRBATTLE. Thank you for your response.

It has been nearly 72 hours since the original decision was overturned. I have been trying to change my gamertag back to my original one every day. I have also attempted to contact microsoft directly but the online option does not allow me to talk to a live
person. All it says is to speak to the virtual assistant or to post on the forums which I finally did.
