GamerTag issue

Hello all,

I apologize if I'm not posting this in the correct thread/section. I've been in a chat with what I believe is a sales person for about an hour now.

The issue at hand is that when I went to turn on my xbox 360, I was prompted to select a profile to sign into. A bit odd due to the fact that I have auto sign-in. I selected my personal gamertag. I was asked to recover my profile for some reason. When I
recovered it I was greeted with a Gamertag I have never seen before in my life. The new gamertag is FlatColt 9414259. It's pretty obvious that it's been randomly generated.

The sales woman told me that it seems to her that my previous gamertag was changed due to it infringing the code of conduct. My previous gamertag was xDevilsCr0tchx. What's weird to me is that I've had the gamertag for about 3 and a half years now with no
problem.

Long story somewhat short, I'm here to gain the ability to change my gamertag to something more appropriate without having to pay $10. She said apparently the people who changed it will be able to see this and forward the issue to someone that'll handle
it.

Anyone ever experience anything like this?

Unable to add son to xbox one

I have this exact same issue, spent hours yesterday on chat support, it has now been escalated. I can create new gamertag's on the console but dont really want to lose my sons existing gamertag.

 

HELP - DLC not accesible

Just to add to this, DRM based content is issued with two licenses, one to the console ID and one to the Gamertag that downloaded it, so to use this content on another console the Gamertag that downloaded it must be signed into Live, whereas all profiles can use it on the original console, unless you transfer the licenses with the DRM tool of course.

 

Ever since the job of judging offensive gamertags was given to the ambassadors,it seems any little infringement is jumped on.

You will not get a free change if it has be deemed offensive,you have no choice but to pay if you want it changed.

 

That's freakin malarchy. I mean $10 really isn't much but the fact that now I'm forced to pay it kind of *** me off.

There used to be an option where you could change your gamertag once for free. But it seems like that's gone now since they moved away from the whole Microsoft points

 

And I know this doesn't seem like that big an issue but the sales rep lady basically stated that I was lucky to still have access to my account.

I think I'm going to try to forward this to someplace like machinima or maybe AH Community, just so the word can get out about "offensive" gamertags now being banned all of a sudden.

 

You still get the option to change your gamertag for free when you start your account.

You get a gebertaed tag & you can change it to a personal one for free.Thats how it's been for ages.

Offensive tags aren't being banned all of a sudden.Offensive tags have always been banned.

The fact you have had the tag for 3 years means nothing,it has only just been reported & investigated & deemed inapropiate.

 

I just canceled my xbox live. My name wasn't offensive, but they believe it is. Forced name change should allow me to choose, not try and make me pay an extra 10 bucks. So eff em. They lose a paying customer.

 

You have already paid......

The fact is, somebody complaind that your on-line handle was offencive. Then, the community agreed.

You can start a new account for free at any time as already pointed out.

The AH and Machinama community mean nothing in this case. (unless they rally a contribution fund for your name change)
