Gamertag Issue - Please Help

I created my Xbox One account yesterday and it gave me the randomly generated name VocalGoldfish48. I then preceded to change it to and it worked. However, whenever I log into Xbox.com it shows VocalGoldfish48 still and sometimes in my Xbox Live party.
Also, when I search for friends and I search for VocalGoldfish48 it shows my same profile picture and gamerscore like I'm still linked to the account even though I changed my gamertag to . If you search and VocalGoldfish48 in friends, you will
see the same gamer pic and gamerscore. Why is it doing this? I changed my gamertag to I don't want VocalGoldfish48 like really.

so i currently have two gamertags listed under my email and theres only one that i want.... but the one i dont want is the one im using now. how do i transfer to the other one listed on my email and get rid of the one im currently using? any help would be
greatly appreciated.

As in, the have the same windows live id but the email only lets you sign in to this one?

Contact customer support, confirm with them the wlid and if this is the case, they can see about an escalation to separate them.

 

Trying removing your profile from the console and reloading it. Let us know if that works. Good Luck!!

 

I tried removing my profile and reloading it and it did not work. VocalGoldfish still appears in my party and even in Goat Simulator when I started up the game and it still shows up on Xbox.com.

 

Try doing a hard reset like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once
it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!!
