    Years ago with the Xbox and 360 I've had an account with the username/gamertag I've been using for over 15 years. The last couple of years I haven't done anything with this account and haven't played on any MS consoles. Now I've ordered the Xbox one X which
    I should receive tomorrow. To start fresh I've created a new MS account with the email address I'm currently using. When trying to change the randomly created gamertag to my usual, I got the error message that it's already taken.

    This gamertag appears to be taken by my old email address, so after requesting a new password etc., I'm able to log in with this (old) account. But this account also has some random gamertag and not the one I want to use.

    Right now I have two MS accounts with both having some random gamertag. Neither one can change the gamertag to the one I want, because it's taken. I can sign in with this gamertag using the email address of my old account.

    I want to have one account with this very special gamertag using my new email address and preferably before my new Xbox arrives tomorrow. Can someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong and offer a possible solution? I have access to all relevant accounts,
    so this shouldn't be a problem.

    Broken email attached to Gamertag, can't get Halo 4 Specializations code ?

    I'm supposed to get an email with a code for 6 new specializations for Halo 4, but they will be emailed to the email address linked to my gamertag which is broken.



    I have an email that I want to use for my gamertag, but its already taken by another gamertag I made by accident. Took the steps that Xbox Tech Support told me to take, and I made a 3rd account (no attached gamertag), but I must wait 30 days to change the
    emails to my Gamertag due to policy.



    Is there anyway I can get the code sent to an alternitive email address ? Or get the code resent to a different email?

    Can you sign in Xbox live with a different E-mail account?

    yeah just create a new email address, go to xbox.com and change the email associated with your gamertag. heres the lnk for you.

    What seems to be happening is that neither one of the emails you are currently using is the one that is associated with the old gamertag.

    The best thing probably to do is to contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and give them the gamertag and if they can verify the ownership of the account they would be able to give you the email address associated with that gamertag.

    I've fixed it with help of the chat support. It turned out I had a third account I had forgotten about with an email address I've never used for anything else. I've removed two of the accounts and changed the email address of the original account.

    Link different OneDrive account

    Because the OneDrive account is the one linked to your gamertag's email address there is only one way to do this. If your gamertag's email address is not a Hotmail one or you want that OneDrive account linked to it you will need to switch the email address
    associated with the gamertag.

    You can not really merge to accounts, but you can change the primary email address on the account your gamertag is associated with to the email address of your newer account.

    If you still own a Xbox 360 there is a guide available to bind your gamertag to a different live account, which is much more easier to do, then change the primary email address.
