Gamertag in party chat

I know this may sound obvious, but have you signed out and signed back in?

Don't guest accounts or gamertags, join party chat too..?? Guest follows main players Gamertag etc..

Alright, there have been no updates this month so that can't be the issue.

When in a party sometimes someone's chat option will default to game chat. In the part menu highlight your gamertag, press A and select Party Chat.

If that doesn't work then press the Guide button and while in the Home section highlight Party Chat, press Start and select Quit.

You could also try heading to Settings and choosing Devices then link the controller to your gamertag to see if that works.

Hopefully that will help.

It shows up fine for other people in parties and even is fine in games for me. It's only in party chat when it shows the old gamertag. Also it wouldn't show the new gamertag on Xbox.com if it was denied.

While the party is snapped back out to the dashboard and highlight it, press Start and select Quit then rejoin the party.

If you get in and can't hear anyone you're probably in Game Chat. Be sure to try switching to Party Chat by highlighting your gamertag and press A then select the proper option.
