GAMERTAG IN LIMBO - PLEASE RECYCLE

I'm writing this post at the recommendation of a Microsoft Support Agent I spoke with today. First off, allow me to say I know there are many stories about people asking for Gamertags to be recycled, but please, hear me out.

Almost 10 years ago I created a pair of Xbox Live accounts: SSDExecutor and SSDGuardian. I did not own an Xbox at the time, but did own several Games on Demand games for PC that required an Xbox LIVE Gamertag to play. Since I also played on friends Xbox
360's from time to time, and wanted to start keeping track of my achievements, I created two profiles, one for the Consoles and one for my PC.

Unfortunately, since I liked SSDExecutor as my primary, I wanted it for console use, and since I didn't have a console of my own, I was using it fairly infrequently while on friend's consoles. After a few years of infrequent use, I suddenly became unable
to access my account, and upon contacting Microsoft they were unable to help me resolve the issue. Somehow, my account had vanished from their system, while simultaneously showing up as "already in use" in their attempts to reuse my gamertag.

Over the years I tried many times to have my Gamertag recovered, all to no avail. Finally, when I did buy my own Xbox 360's, I began contacting Microsoft again to retrieve my account name, no longer caring about anything other than getting the gamertag itself
back. Once again, to no avail, so I created my current profile, .

This gamertag has been a little chaotic to explain to people, since the "II" after the name is actually two capital letter "i" that most people can't distinguish. They confuse it with the number 1 or with the a lowercase L.

Upon contacting Microsoft again today, the support agent acknowledged how weird my situation is. In their system, they can see that "SSDExecutor" is in fact in use, however they can't find any account associated with the Gamertag.

I'm writing this post at the recommendation of the support agent, who told me that while it is very RARE, it is possible for Gamertags to be recycled. I come here to ask, if someone who reads this is a Microsoft employee with the power to escalate my request
or to fulfill it, please help me lol. If you don't have the power to help me in my request, I ask that you don't reply to my post, because if you do to and you mark my post as "answered" then someone with the ability to actually help me will never read this
post.

I have been trying for almost 10 years now to retrieve my gamertag, and while I know it's just a stupid gamertag, it does mean something to me, especially since I had to append the "II" to my name just to use something similar. If you please lookup "SSDExecutor"
to add them as a friend, you'll find that no such Gamertag exists, yet if you try to create an account named "SSDExecutor" it says the "gamertag is already in use."

Please, someone with the power to look into this issue and recycle my gamertag, please help me. If you are able to check the information on the account, you'll find that the personal information such as street address, zip code and name on account all match
who I am. The E-Mail and Phone number I can't vouch for because the e-mail I use now didn't exist back then, and I changed my phone number when I switched from Cingular (who no longer exists) to AT&T. So please, this is a very rare case, please help me lol.
Please restore me back to SSDExecutor. I'm getting desperate here.

Okay, but here's the problem, it's MY Gamertag. Unfortunately due to a Microsoft Issue, I lost access to my account, an issue that 10 years later they still have been unable to resolve. This isn't about someone having taken the Gamertag and then no longer
using it. It's about me creating that profile, then Microsoft *** it up on their end and forcing me to create a new profile. Due to the irregular nature of this problem, I should think there is some level of their Database Engineers that manage the system
that could resolve this problem.

I do appreciate you guys taking the time to respond, I only came here though at the suggestion of a Microsoft Support Agent who recognized that my issue was very peculiar. On her end she noted how her system must be making an error, something I've been trying
to get them to understand for years now.

 

Gamertag in Limbo - Please Recycle

So I have to completely disagree with you about everyone deserving a Gamertag recycle. This is about correcting an issue created by Microsoft. If Microsoft screws up your account one day in their databases, and you can no longer use it, then I think you
should be entitled to prove you are in fact the original account holder, and have your account name recycled for YOUR use, since it was YOURS to begin with and not YOUR fault that you can't access it. When the fault lies with Microsoft, Microsoft needs to
take special care in resolving the issue.

 

Xbox 360 gamertags have never been "recycled" and there have been no announced plans to release any of them. A few years ago they began "recycling" Xbox (original) gamertags but found too many were being resold for money so they stopped releasing them.
I doubt it will happen again.

 

I will just add, as I do with most of these threads, try and think of an idea where they can release the gamertags while keeping it fair end equal to the whole community as well as stopping people snagging the best ones and selling them on ebay. No easy
task, I know.

The bottom line is Microsoft is responsible for my inability to access my account. It wasn't due to lost or forgotten information, I simply lost access and was told to contact Microsoft. Upon doing so, Microsoft told me they couldn't see my account on their
end, proving to them that my issue wasn't my fault but theirs.

This isn't about correcting a mistake I have made, it's about correcting a mistake MICROSOFT has made, and not about releasing the account to another user, but releasing it back to the original account owner, ME, which could all be verified if they could
SEE the account, which they can't, because their system is messed up lol.

It's an extremely unique and odd situation, and that's why I'm asking for "special treatment." I'm the only one I've seen asking for a "Gamertag recycle" due to Microsoft *** up. This isn't about me getting someone else's name, or account, like others have
been asking. This is about ME getting my stuff back, when it doesn't even appear on Microsofts system anymore because it's THAT *** up.
