Gamertag Help

You can't take it until they release it, make a little change of the tag.

Having a sort of similar issue. The gamertag I want is one I had YEARS ago, back when Halo 2 first came out. I moved and forgot all information associated with that account (pretty sure it was tied to some hotmail address I abandoned because hotmail became
spam city) when I wanted to recreate a GT years later.

That GT is untouched. No achievements, no gamerscore, nothing (it was prior to the release of the 360). I thought old GTs were going to be cleared out, but this one just stays stuck :/

The free tag change only applies if you receive an auto generated GT within 30 days of account creation. It does not look like your GT was auto generated so the rule would not apply and you would have to pay the fee.

Ohhhh. No one really mentions that. :/ On every other forum people talk about how you can change it for free once. They don't mention that its an auto generated thing. Thank you!

There is a one-time free gamertag change but it's only available to users who went ahead and used the auto-generated gamertag they were given upon account creation, as bowski mentioned. We hope that helps

There is no way to completely delete an account once it has been connected to the servers. You would have to have access to the account and change the gamertag to something else in order to free it up for use on a different account.

So while you previously used the Tag, your use of it ceased when it was suspended from Xbox live services (granted you can still play it offline, but it can't use the xbox live services). Anyone could create an offline tag called Kai JC.

I can appreciate the desire to resurrect the tag, but it was that name that didn't follow the CoC or ToS, so it is that name that the enforcement action was taken against - to allow the name to be resurrected in any form kind of defeats the object of the
suspension.

While I wish you luck in your endeavour. I can say with certainty ( as those above me have) that you won't be able to get hold of that name for use on xbox live again!
