GamerTag has been dormant (dead) for over 6 years

For 6 years now I have been checking the availability of "Lepec" every few months in hopes of changing my gamertag to this. I believe I originally owned the account over 6 years ago and the profile was dead after changing my gamertag from "Lepec" to something
else. How does a gamertag not be made available again after OVER SIX YEARS? There have been 2 times in which announcements were made from Microsoft about dead gamertags being made available again, however "Lepec" was not one of them on both occassions. How
is there not a better process for this or some way to request a dead gamertag be made available again? Seems like a huge oversight by Xbox/Microsoft. After several conversations with support staff, I was informed that I wouldn't want someone with my old gamertag
to be posing as me online and to forget about the issue and just be happy with my current gamertag. REALLY?! IT'S BEEN OVER SIX YEARS!

Xbox Account Issue

Is there any way a dormant account can be purchased from xbox or deleted. Its unfair and not right that there are so many gamertags that me and others want but the account has been dormant for years or been banned for ever.

xbox live discontinued gamer tag account

GamerTags can go into hiatus or dormant status for years for account recovery and/or be recirculated at Microsoft discretion.

Remember to find a gamer tag you have to be exact

So LEpec won't show when you search for Lepec or le Pec but the system will still say that it's taken because it is

Since there is an infinite amount of combinations you are just going to have to keep trying

FYI: Capitalization is no longer a factor in searching gamertags. Spacing and spelling do count.

Gamertags are also used on other services,not just xbox live,so you have no way of knowing whether the tag is being used or not.

As from last year if a gamertag doesn't log in for 5 years then it is made available so you'll just have to keep checking.

Purges of gamertags are done periodically over time (years time). A gamertag can show as unused as it has been dormant but not purged out to be made available.

Remember there are several ways people try to make a gamertag unique but they are considered the same by the system

Every once and awhile, Microsoft will re-release unused/banned Gamertags that have been dormant for x amount of years. Only then could you acquire the Gamertag.
