    Gamertag glitch?


    I searched for a gamertag via the Xbox website that I wanted to claim, but it came up with this message:

    What exactly does this mean? Is it off limits?

    It either means that there was a problem with the site when you tried searching or the profile doesn't exist.

    You can try, but seeing that screen is still no guarantee that the gamertag you want is available. The system doesn't see things like spaces as making a gamertag unique. So if you've searched for "gamertag" it may not show up even though it is in use elsewhere
    as "gamer tag". All you can do is try changing it and see if it tells you it's already taken.

    Original gamertag is inaccessible & GLITCHED due to a inactive spaced version

    Spaced gamertags were created by people looking to steal OG Gamertags during the 360 era. They are glitched gamertags, basically cheating.

    Sometimes the system takes time to fully catch up and update.

    Give it a few days or a week for changes to catch up across all features.

    Explain the situation to them in full detail and make them aware of your concerns. They will be able to escalate this issue to higher support who would be able to find the best resolution for you.
