Gamertag & Game purchase

games are tied to the microsoft account that bought them, so if you delete your account you lose access to them and you'll have to buy them again

As others have said, games are tied to the microsoft account/xbox account you used to purchase them, if you wanted a new name you could have just changed your gamertag.

If you have not closed your microsoft account then download that profile again onto your xbox and sign it in, then sign back in to your new profile and the games will be playable.

Getting rid on your account will lose you access to the games linked to it . If you simply want a new gamertag you can change it via xbox.com

Have you deleted your account from the console or you have really closed/deleted your account on Microsoft?

In the first case you can simply readd your old account, in the second case... you lose your purchased games

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums with this question. As the Ambassadors have already stated, if you've deleted your Microsoft account, then any items purchased with the account, emails, etc. are also removed as well, meaning you'll no longer have
access to them.

it reopened per the support article entitled
How to close your Microsoft account. If you'd like assistance in getting the account reopened, then I would further recommend
