Gamertag forcibly changed

I would like to know why my Gamertag was forcibly changed from "KOOLKRAZIKANE" to "WearyFoal575614". While I was playing COD Ghost my Xbox1 console froze ... I powered it down and when I resumed playing my Gamertag had changed. WHY ????????

Nowhere in the FAQ does it state that these are tags that have been previously acted on. In fact it seems quite clear that these are currently reported gamertags.

I can tell you exactly why it was changed. Kool Krazy Kane = 3 capital K's which refers to a hate group. It took me 3 seconds to see it. I can pretty much guarantee you will not get the name back, and be advised that if you continue to register offensive
names your account could receive further action or can even be banned.

 

Outsider that is a bit of a stretch on that one I still do not see why it was changed but once a name is changed you CANNOT change it back as it is black listed and not selectable again.

 

I have to agree with davemcfly. People always see the worst in gamertags, and there may be 3 capital K's but the representation of the rest of the letters could be innocently genuine. Some people take gamertags too far. While there could be an argument why
didn't the affected player use a C-razi instead of a K-razy. And I think it'dbe much obvious to assume, if his name is actually Kane, he wanted it to be identical the whole way through. KOOLKRAZIKANE. But OUTSIDER you do realisethat in your quotation of '3
CapitalK's have you noticed the fact that they were all capitals from what the affected member said?

Aside from that unfortunately you'll never get that Gamertag back. Your best bet is to pay the fee.

People try to hide references to hate groups in many ways. While I am not saying that this was done on purpose, the reference is still there. Your own observation that he could have used C's is spot on. I can pretty much guarantee you that is why the name
was changed. Whoever filed the complaint spotted it, I spotted it, and the enforcement team must have seen it as well. Its not a stretch at all. Like I said, it took me three seconds to see it.

 

Also Criosphinx, the system does not recognize if the name is all capitals, and just because he put the name in all capitals does not mean that is how it shows on the gamertag.

 

Then how would you know either way if you had no way or knowing for sure but assume it had 3 capital K's? When a gamertag is forced to a generated one there will be no display to the public of his former one. You have no solid proof it was or wasn't all
capitals. If so what evidence was it?

Crio, I spotted it in three seconds, THREE SECONDS, and I am not one to look for the worst in things. You may or may not agree with it, and to be perfectly honest I can not be 100% positive this is why it was changed, but to me its pretty obvious. Anyway,
I am not going to get into an arguement over it. The result of it being changed is the same either way. He will not get the name back, and will have to pay to change it to something else.

 

Not everyone in this world means anything offensive by their gamertags.And while you saw it yet I didn't neither did dave. Know this. Sometimes the File Complaint system can be abused as much as the reputation. On an account I made for example I played a
few games online and never have a mic plugged in or send any messages. but I get 1005 avoided within a few games. 50% trash talk and 50% aggresive. With no innteraction with others but playing the game, do you see what I'm getting at here? If this persons
name really is Kane, I could see where he was coming from with his gamertag. I would think it would be weird to have a gamertag such as CoolCraziKane as the very idea that the K's make it look a better gamertag to go with his name. While I know that some people
don't mean anything bad by it, in some cases it's read into the wrong way. While racism is against the law and of the code of conduct I don't think it was intentional. There are a lot of people who try to read the bad in everythihng they see. And automatically
assume it's something that it's not. That's called looking into things too hard. Now I'm not saying you did that. I'm saying I don't do that. Which is why I can't really see anything wrong in the gamertag. You're right it's going by what he says it was (all
capitals) but there is no way me or you can find out for sure.The only people who do know for sure is the people he interacted with and the enforcement team. I remember when some people wanted to get a free gamertag change they would ask their friends to all
file a complaint on his/her gamertag be it as it may the gamertag was not in violation to any code of conduct. could be something like for example Mr Orange, there would be nothing offensive about that. But the gamertag regardless got banned due to how many
complaints it got. Every system seems to get manipulated these days. So basically the point I'm trying to make is I find it best when I don't try to look at all the bad in every post. I try to think logically and not what my eyes see. This person could be
innocent but just because he got a ban on his gamertag doesn't mean it was offensive from the fact i put above. I sometimes see posts of people trying to get a free gamertag change using the known method of "being insulted because of my name" i knew a very
immature friend of mine once who did the exact same thing. But I guess others cannot see that because they've probably not known anyone who tried doing the same thing.

Still, I guess the word of the Enforcement Team is final, although in my opinion I think this is a bit far fetched.

And I do not see anywhere that I'm trying to start an argument. You was expressing your opinion, and so was I. Now as far as I know you replying to me with your opinion and vice versa isn't me trying to engage into an argument. So try to settle down a bit
before assuming I'm out to get you or something.
