    Gamertag/email transfer information


    My son was using my husband's email for his xbox one. We made him a new email and want to keep his old gamertag along with all his DLCs and all his accomplishments along with any items that he purchased while using my husband's email. How can I go about transferring his information, DLCs from the old email to the new one and possibly keeping his gamertag. He also has backed up his information to an external hard drive. Can I export that info saved from hard drive to the Xbox one? And how can I get games to work when it says it's been bought by another user on this xbox? There's only 1 xbox one and 2 emails. Thank you.

    Hello YashiraWebb, unfortunately it is not possible to transfer data, saves, gamertags etc to another account.

    Even if it has all the information on an external disk it makes no difference because today all account information is saved to the Microsoft cloud when it logs in to Xbox.

    If he started using her husband's account from the beginning to play and has everything in his account, the easiest solution would be to pass your husband's account to him and create a new one for her husband.

    The email and the Xbox account are forever tied together. The only way to have things seperate now would be for one of them to start over with a new account.

    Impossible to change Microsoft account linked to my Gamertag.

    I'm having the same problem, I want to transfer this gamertag to another email. The only problem is while trying to transfer I accidentally created a gamertag on the email I wanted the gamertag to be transferred to. So I followed the directions on the transfer
    gamertag website. The email I now want to transfer my gamertag to is gamertag free, but when I try to transfer now I get Status code: 8016FE6D.

    Create a new Windows Live ID and transfer the gamertag you don't use to the new email address. Then transfer your son's gamertag to your wife's email address.
