Gamertag displays random name

Hi,

I have set up an Xbox Profile to play Gears 5 on Steam, but each time I tried to register I have been allocated a completely random name. How can I change that?

Hello!

When you start the game and sign in with the Xbox Live account, the name change Everytime you start the game?

You can change your gamertag 1 time for free (if you get the random tag by Xbox)

You can go to my profile and change it.

That's because by default you are assigned a random gamertag. Go here to change it https://social.xbox.com/en-us/changegamertag.
Please note you can only change it for the first time for free, after that it costs $10.

You can change gamertag, if I'm not mistaken the first time you move is for free.

Creating a Xbox profile for the 1st time always allocates you a random name, you can change it one time for free from here https://social.xbox.com/en-us/changegamertag

You can try contacting support at Contact us | Xbox Support

From there, select the "Contact Us" button

Select "Account & Profile" and "I want to change my gamertag" from the dropdown menus

Sign into your effect Xbox profile and you should see the option to request a call.
