Gamertag didn't change.

I tried to change my gamertag and hit "sounds good" and it didn't work. My default tag was still there for xbox home and games, but it did show up in my profile for a while. Reset the console, signed out. Still no change. I tried adding the name again, but
this time it was taken. The next day it disappeared from my profile. Is there a solution to this?

Paid to change gamertag, but it didn't change

I paid to change my gamertag, and I see the charge in my account history, but it wasn't changed.

My gamertag was forcibly changed and now I have to pay for a new one.

If your gamertag is forcibly changed you should get a free gamertag change. I didn't waste $10 to have my gamertag removed.

Try deleting and re-downloading your profile back onto your Xbox one. It should them update it to your new name.

Also when I try to change to the same gamertag, it says it's reserved. I tried searching for it with find someone and couldn't find it either.

Sometimes, it can take a couple of days for your gamertag change to take effect across Xbox services.

In the meantime, you can try restarting your Xbox, and removing and re-adding your profile to your console to see if the gamertag updates.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.
Select Profile & System > Add or switch > Add new.

Happened with me a while ago,

Try restart your Xbox and if it still hasn’t changed, I clicked on the change gamertag option and typed my new name in and it swapped it immediately without asking for another payment.

I’m guessing that it bought the gamertag change but now wants you to type the same name in to actually use it.
