As you at Microsoft simply can't factor in an active directory to remove gamer tags from user profiles really and truly, is embarrassing. to which the gamer tag associated with my email, I've decided to amend from PearlMaple63556.......To

If that gets reported, it will get changed back to a system generated one. The gamertag is built into the Microsoft infrastructure and is used not only within Xbox.

Gamertags do get purged but it takes some time. No one wants to lose their tag even if they haven't played in some time.

You won't have any sort of gamertags deleted, sorry (that's not even possible once a gamertag is created).

You'll need to file a complaint against them and block communications with them if they have sent you any sort of messages. This is normal procedure that everyone follows on Xbox LIVE regardless of what the action.

If the Xbox LIVE Enforcement Team see it as offensive or having personal information the gamertag they will issue that account a forced name change.

Hey there DK! Have you tried any sort of troubleshooting yet, such as clearing your console's cache, deleting the marketplace data, or restarting your network hardware?

Generally it should resolve itself if you delete the profile off the console and re-download it.

Not really sure how they were able to determine there was something wrong with the profile yet could not offer a fix for you though...
