Gamertag Compromised

My username has become compromised by a group of people who have harassed me both on Live and online. I want to change my gamer tag to help stop this but Xbox is forcing me to pay. So I fail to understand why I must pay $10 to escape harassment that Xbox
can't stop. I am a Gold member and can't seem to get the slightest help from Microsoft on this issue. They just ask me to report the users but how can you do that when they find you in forums online? If someone at Xbox sees this please email me. No one has
helped me despite my inquiries and it has me wondering when I'll be able to play online again without being annoyed by immature users.

If your account was compromised you can contact support and have them do an unauthorized access investigation. I'm not sure if they will let you change your gamertag if it was changed while it was compromised though.

my account was compromised and my refrence number is 1170492124 and the gamertag who hacked me was steelheadtom

If you're being harrassed, you need to file complaints on those people and block communications. There is no way to get a free gamertag change. You will have ot pay if you want to change your tag.

It actually sounds like your account was compromised and they changed the e-mail address associated with it. What was your old gamertag?

Regarding Gamertag unfortunately it will not be possible to recover the previous name.
