Gamertag changed

My gamertag was changed without my consent. I was not able to create a new name and one was randomly assigned to me. I want to change my gamertag but am not paying the fee to do so.

Gamertag changed

I got a message that connecting to Xbox Live was not possible with my profile and that I shoul download it again. After doing so my Gamertag was changed.

I want my tag back!

FNC? I few years ago they made my friend change his account. He was able to freely choose a new name. Now you have to pay? I am wondering why they changed it?

Your gamertag violated the code of conduct & you were issued a forced name change.

You gave Microsoft permission to do this when you agreed to the terms & conditions/code of conduct when you started your account.

To find out what part of the CoC the tag violated either read the email sent to the address linked to your account or post here forums.xbox.com/.../4276.aspx

If you want to change it you will have to pay,you will not get a free change.

Yes, changing the gamertag again should be possible, als changing back to your previous Gamertag is possible, as long as your original Gamertag isn't already taken by somebody else.

Keep in mind each change will require a payment.

I'm afraid there are no free gamertag changes, if a gamertag was deemed to break the CoC/ToU then you will given a generated one and if you want to change the gamertag into something chosen by yourself it will have the fee like any gamertag change.
