Gamertag changed

I got a message that connecting to Xbox Live was not possible with my profile and that I shoul download it again. After doing so my Gamertag was changed.

I want my tag back!

FNC? I few years ago they made my friend change his account. He was able to freely choose a new name. Now you have to pay? I am wondering why they changed it?

gamertags are changed when they are reported for Violation the Terms of use,

any Change outside of the first 30d Change will have to be paid for.

plus you cannot change it back once a name is found in violation it is unavailable. and if you try to create a new tag that was just as bad as the last one you will get another name change but warning too many of them results in perm ban of live.

Ok but they waited coincidentally enough till the 30th day exactly, then they change it to a completely bogus name, if I can't change it for free then I don't want gold and demand a refund.

if you changed your Name once within the first 30d you alreay had your free Change, and you definitly had this one, else you wouldnt complain about a random different Name. there is no 2nd free Change, never.

a gamertag must be rated e for everyone at all time, if this is not the case and your gamertags gets reported it will be randomly changed.

you may not Exchange letters and numbers or use shortforms.

those who work for Microsoft are marked as official Support here on the boards, everyone else is a gamer like you are and we provide public available Information.

if you violate the Terms of use on psn or other online services, you can expect similar enforcement Action.

The enforcement team are the ones who determine whether or not a gamertag violates the code of conduct. You agreed to the code of conduct/terms of service when you created your account and agreed to this policy.

Support sends you to the forums because they believe you can talk to the enforcement team here and get a free change, which is not the case. The enforcement team only posts in the suspensions/bannings forums to let people know what they have done wrong.
Unfortunately, phone support doesn't understand how the forums actually work and send people here for that exact reason all the time.

FYI, Playstation doesn't allow name changes at all. If this were to happen there, you would lose your entire account.

Yes, changing the gamertag again should be possible, als changing back to your previous Gamertag is possible, as long as your original Gamertag isn't already taken by somebody else.

Keep in mind each change will require a payment.

I'm afraid there are no free gamertag changes, if a gamertag was deemed to break the CoC/ToU then you will given a generated one and if you want to change the gamertag into something chosen by yourself it will have the fee like any gamertag change.
