My gamertag was changed recently without my knowledge and I would like a confirmation as to why it happened. Thank you.

Gamertag changed

I got a message that connecting to Xbox Live was not possible with my profile and that I shoul download it again. After doing so my Gamertag was changed.

I want my tag back!

FNC? I few years ago they made my friend change his account. He was able to freely choose a new name. Now you have to pay? I am wondering why they changed it?

Looking at your gamertag i'd say you have been issued a forced name change as your previous gamertag was against the code of conduct.

Your gamertag must be rated "E" for everyone.

I didn't recieve any warning of a gamertag change and I've had my previous one for 3 years. I would appreciate being able to change my gamertag for free without having to pay for something that I had no part in.

Sorry you're upset. However, as posted above the ToU and CoC that you agreed to are very explicit about the rules of the service.

If you believe that your tag was changed in error please post at the link that Daft Badger supplied. The PET are the ones who set the change of your tag and will be more than happy to answer your concerns.

No one else anywhere on the forums can help you with this.

As long as you don't give out your log in details then you'll be fine,it's just an idle threat.

@KindBunny,you were given a warning,it was the ToC & CoC you agreed to when you started your account.

Doesn't matter how long you had the previous tag,it has only now been reported & investigated.

You obviously did have a part in this as it was you who created the offending gamertag.You will have to pay to change the one you have now.

Yes, changing the gamertag again should be possible, als changing back to your previous Gamertag is possible, as long as your original Gamertag isn't already taken by somebody else.

Keep in mind each change will require a payment.

I'm afraid there are no free gamertag changes, if a gamertag was deemed to break the CoC/ToU then you will given a generated one and if you want to change the gamertag into something chosen by yourself it will have the fee like any gamertag change.
