Gamertag changed without warning

Hi,

My gamertag was forcibly changed after seven years. I do not interact with any community outside of the few people in my friends group on Xbox 360, so I don't know why this would have happened.

I received an email a little while ago stating that someone had flagged my gamertag as inappropriate and that a new gamertag was to be issued immediately.

First: After seven years, I'm disappointed and angry that my gamertag should be changed from something that I remember into word/letter stew thanks to one complaint.

Second: Xbox policy states that once a gamertag is set up, an individual has 30 days to change it, and after that, a $10 fee is assessed for any change.

I'd had my gamertag since the first year of the Xbox 360's existence with no issues, so to have my gamertag forcibly changed and be forced to pay a fee to change it to something else is unacceptable.

I've already chatted with support staff who brushed me over to the forums, saying that I need to reference a service number of
[Mod Removed]. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service that has been rendered, and would like to dispute the change to my gamertag, or be offered the chance to change it with no fee assessed.

I've been a Xbox owner for years and playing online i would like to know why my gamertag was changed without my permission or without warning it did not have any foul language and ive never shown any unlikable behavior

 

The Terms of Use/Code of Conduct you agree'd to was your warning.

It doesn't matter how long it was on the service. It was reported and issued a change. Policy is that upon a Forced Name Change, you're given a random name.

If you'd like to choose a new gamertag, you have to pay the fee of $9.99. There is no free change given after being issued a Forced Name Change.

 

If you would like the official word on why the tag was changed please post in the Suspensions forums so the PET (Policy Enforcement Team) can address it.

If you read the faq correctly that 30days do not apply to forced name changes..

That only applies to new accounts and first 30days

If you had bothered to read the terms of use

Forced name changes comes with randomized names

You should feel lucky it only came with a randomized names as some forced name changes come with suspensions on other servers

Force name changes on psn or Wii will mean you are out of luck

You had 7years to follow the rules

It only takes one valid complaint

There is no appeal you can inquire about the change in the account suspension

It does not matter how long you had it or what you used to get past the word filter your name must be rated E for everyone
