Gamertag changed without permission.

You can easily see what else that spells. It did violate the COC in a big way. That was a very racist name, and deserved to be FNC.

Gamertage changed without permission

This is my son's account. After all the reset mess, I tried to log him back in our xbox one. The signin was successful, but now his gamertag has changed. It was TeamRay357 and now its . I know it wasn't breaking any rules, so I don't know why
it was changed. He also lost his Gamerscore and all of his saved games. How do I fix this?

I changed his gamertag back to something close until we figure out this mess.

 

I have been a loyal customer of Xbox Live for approximately 6 years. During this time as a whole I have been very satisfied with your service and have spent a great deal of my money on add ons and games. Recently my Gamertag was changed without my permission.
I was not too impressed but my main issue was I was assigned a new gamertag and not given the option to change it to a name of my preference. I paid for this particular Gamertag change and it has since after 3 years been deemed inappropriate. TO change this
name without my consent and assign me something else is theft. I called the support line and spoke to three different 'managers'.

All of which were extremely unhelpful and told me that my gamertag was deemed offensive and the reason I didn't get the choice to change my gamertag is because they had recently changed their 'terms and conditions'. They also informed me that I would not
get a refund as per my request and if i wanted to change my gamertag I would have to pay again. In my mind, you have basically spat in my face and told me to like it, this is unacceptable. As a loyal customer for so many years I was shocked and appalled at
how I have been treated. To charge me for a gamertag and then take said gamertag away without giving me the option to choose something else is theft. I will not let this lie, I feel cheated. I would like to know what your team intends to do about this. I apologise
if this is in the wrong section but I would also like to add that these forums are near impossible to navigate.

 

Well actually they were probably helpful you have to remember that regardless how long you had the name for you must comply with the terms of use at all times you should feel lucky to get an second chance and every 2nd chancewill cost you each time you ignore
the rules

Fyi this is common naming rules you must be rated E for everyone.

You should feel lucky usually a server will hand you a suspension on top

With a paid change on top of you want a customized name

Just comply with the rules and you will enjoy life much more

 

Pretty sure they were clear if you break the rules you don't have to pay for another chance as per the terms of use

Maybe you should start following the rules great?

Fyi multiple name changes will only result in a perm suspension of your account also people sometimes ignored the force name changes and left hem publically this way we don't see horrible violations of the terms of use

 

You agreed to the terms & conditions & code of conduct when you started your account.

That means you agreed that the enforcement team can change your gamertag when they want & give you a random tag if it is against the ToC or CoC.

It's not theft nor have you been cheated in any way

 

As a paying customer I disagree Daft Badger. I have Terms and Conditions too. By me signing up to microsoft's so called 'service', they are now bound by my own terms and conditions and they have in fact violated MY terms and conditions. It's like me buying
a product and then 3 years down the track the person from whom I bought it from takes my product and exchanges it with something else. This is not what I agreed to nor is it acceptable. When I purchased my gamertag these new 'terms and conditions' were not
in effect. Had I known the terms and conditions would be changed in such a way I would not have PAID MONEY to have my gamertag changed in the first place

This being the case, I would like the option to change my gamertag to something of my liking as per the original terms and conditions to which I complied with when I bought my gamertag. The fact of the matter is, if my gamertag was offensive it should have
been deemed so upon purchasing it. The fact that this was overlooked is a flaw in Microsoft and is their fault, not my own. In my mind, at the time of creating my gamertag, I WAS obeying the terms and conditions. I would like either a refund of which I am
happy for it to be Microsfot credit or the option to change my GT to something that I would like.

 

The problem you did not consider is that the COC and TOU are subject to change, and you agreed to this when you signed up. 1.6 Can Microsoft change this Agreement after I have accepted it? Yes. From time to time, Microsoft may change or amend these terms.
If we do, we will notify you, either through the user interface, in an email notification, or through other reasonable means. Your use of the Services after the date the change becomes effective will be your consent to the changed terms. If you do not agree
to the changes, you must stop using the Services and cancel any paid Services by following the instructions in section 6.10. Otherwise, the new terms will apply to you.

 

Of course, nobody ever reads these things, right? Well this is a contract, and if you do not review a contract that you are signing, it does not nullify your agreement.

 

The change that was made is as follows: If you create a Gamertag that has been determined to violate the Terms of Use or Code of Conduct, the system will automatically choose a new Gamertag for you. Since you continued to use the service after this change
was made, you agreed to it.

 

Rules change. You agree'd to such. You will not get a refund of any sort nor will anything be reversed. It's done. You want a new name? You have to pay.

 

oOUTSIDERo62 I find your name offensive. Please change it immediately. It reminds me of a time in which I was cast out of Xbox Live and was treated incredibly poorly.

 

GreatCub, just stop. It doesn't violate the rules. Good luck though getting that enforced.

 

The name does violate the rules if someone finds it offensive. I've found the name oOUTSIDERo62 offensive. It should be changed.....perhaps GreatCub4357913 is available for him?
