Gamertag changed without my knowledge

My gamer tag was not inappropriate. Even the representative said it wasn't as well. My gamertag was changed without my knowledge resulting in about 2 hours of my day wasted. This is wrong and you all need to leave peoples accounts alone. I want to change
mine back to how it was! rabbidbunny54454 common guys thats rediculous thats my new one they gave me! Should have stayed with PS3

If your name was changed it was deemed offensive. The old system did allow for you to pick a new one but people abused that. Now the enforcement team changes it and you have to pay to change it to something you like. You can make a post here for further

I left for vacation and when I got back on Xbox live I found that my gamertag had been changed. I talked to two customer service people and they both said they couldn't find anything and that I should check here because my name could've been banned and the
people who would've done it could shed some more light on the subject. Also, I thought when a name gets banned you're allowed to change your name to something else free of charge. I don't have that option so what's going on?

 

The enforcement team would not have changed it if it had not violated the Code of Conduct. It may not have been inappropriate to you, but it was found to be offensive in some way.

 

Hey, if the representative found no profanity in it and even said himself it was not inappropriate. It was changed wrongfully. However, they are going to let me change it back. Screw that Code of conduct, they wasted 2 hours of my day and now even more but
in the end i got it back so it's all good.

 

I have never seen a FNC reversed, and only the PET, (Policy Enforcement Team), could authorize one if they did.

 

That's what he did for me. He contacted them and said that it was ***. So he made it to where I wouldn't get charged 10$ and could change it back in 24 hours. Considering i've had accounts with these guys since I was 13. I think it was pretty fair and I
thank him for doing that.

 

Remember the customer service job isn't to call your name bad or not that is uptp the enforcement team

Also not they don't have access to urban dictionary also if you hide a bad word behind certain characters it may not be obvious to them and sometimes English isnt their first language

Trust me I seen bad names before obvious dispite what the op says it was really bad too it insulted everyone on thethread

Psn also has the same naming rules

Live life and play fair it is that simple

Your name must be rated E for everyone

What doesn't seem offencive to you doesn't meant it isn't offencive it is how other perceives it

I bet if you post the name we can point out which was offencive

 

Interesting. As far as I know, phone support has no way to contact the PET, thats why they send people to the forums. I have my doubts that it will be changed back at no charge, or changed back at all. I would advise though, if you do not get it back as
I expect, that you do not try to change it back to the same name again by paying the fee. Too many FNC's can get you a suspension or a ban.

 

Hate to break it to you but if you actually read the terms of Use customer support doesn't have that power nor can you use the same name again and most of the time they refer you to the suspension forums which if you look up forced name Chang as most of
the time they can't do anything for yoy

Reusing the same bad word will only earn another forcename change if you do not know her rules you better read them

Multiple forcename changes will lead to the perm suspension of your account

What they may have done is issue you a credit which I highly doubt

 

Customer support will not contact pet team there is no direct line

Only escalation or consumer advocate has that power

And since this is first line agent I highly doubt it

 

Pet team has more power and rally their decisions are final and cannot be overridden by support

 

It's all good now. He granted me a free change on my gamertag so I don't have to pay 10$. Just wished it didn't take so much time out of my day off. I just don't understand to why my other gamertag which could have offended someone never had to get changed
yet this one did. Call me paranoid but I don't wanna release it. I hope you guys can respect that because when I did that last time someone decided they liked it and stole it from me.

Thats understandable I guess. You could post using it when you get it back. Will be interesting to see if you really do get it back. PLEASE remember, if you change it to something similar to what you had, it could be found to be offensive again and like
we have both told you, to many FNC's can get you banned.
