    Gamertag changed without me having a chance


    My gamertag was changed on me during the time i had to be offline which was awhile and then i was told that by my siblings that it was something different and my old one was erased from my live account.I want to have my gamertag choosen by me but i was told
    by support i had to pay for it so im here saying/asking that i shouldnt have to pay if i knew my name was going to be changed for a certain reason i would change it to something else but i didnt have that chance i just want to pick my new name since i cant
    have my old one please help me just change my name.

    Gamertag changed without me confirming

    I was experimenting with gamertags today, checking which ones were available and which ones aren't. When I finally decided on one (Hobiphany) I checked my account to confirm, only to be faced with "CheonsaHobi". I did not select CheonsaHobi as a name. It's
    a name in a foreign language that I had checked the availability of before choosing "Hobiphany". Why was it set as my gamertag, taking away my only free change? It's ridiculous that my experience was ruined by a silly glitch. Is it possible to convert it over?

    This happened on the 8th of February 2018 in England at around 8:15pm

    Please help me if possible.

    Sorry, but per the code of conduct which you agree to, the enforcement team can change your gamertag if it violates the code of conduct and you will have to pay to change it to something else. There is no way to get a free change.

    In future if you do not want to encounter this again, the best thing to do is not take the risk of picking a gamertag that not all, but some may find unacceptable.

    If the change is not on your billing tab chances are enforcement changed it for you because of reports

    When you receive an FNC(forced name change) you only get one chance to change it without cost and you are stuck with it. You will need to pay 800 Microsoft points in order to change your gamertag again.
