Gamertag changed, what can I do?

Not so long ago I turned on my Xbox 360 and I got a message that I had to re-download my profile from Xbox Live. After doing so it appeared that my gamertag was changed to ''. After checking my mail and asking for the reason in account support
it appeared they found my previous gamertag ([Mod Removed] or something) offensive. I still think this is without a good reason because I don't think it's offensive, anyway, they are not going to let me change it again for free, I need to
pay 9,50 to change it again and I decided not to do this.

I don't want to play with the name 'Scarycub', as you can understand it's not really a cool name, even for offline play haha! I also decided that I will not pay any longer for Xbox Live Gold, because I don't agree with Microsofts policies on name changes
etc.

What are my options? Can I remove the Xbox Live acount from my local offline Xbox 360 profile so that I can change my name on the local offline profile? Or can I make a new offline profile and transfer my achievements and savegames to it? I searched through
all the menus on the 360 but I can't seem to get this sorted. Anyone else have a idea?

Ok, on my other account my Gamertag was changed, it got hacked. I don't know who hacked it but he changed the Gamertag and made another account with the gamertag, is there anyway I can get my Gamertag back on my new Account? Like what can I do, I don't want
to go through a long process I want to get this done as soon as I can, thank you would greatly appreciate it.

 

You don't see what is wrong with that gamer tag seriously are you 10 years old?

Maybe you should spend some time with your current gamer tag and read the rules more

Multiple violations of the gamer tag rules Will only result in the perm ban of your account

And it only takes 3times

If you think that the terms. Of use is a joke then maybe you deserve not having a custom name for awhile

You can do one of two things

First read the terms of use then change your gamer tag for 10bucks and think seriously about the rules because each violation of the gamer tag rules will cost you

It is the same rules every gamer services

Do not create a Gamertag, profile content, Avatar content, in-game content, videos, or any other content that other users may be offended by. This includes, without limitation, anything related to or suggestive of:

Profane words or phrases

Hate speech

Notorious people or organizations

Sensitive current or historical events

Any “sound-alike” or “lookalike” words, phrases, or puns that reference these topics

 

Which ever gaming services you goto you better grow up because that name would not be allowed on most services not to mention earn you a ban or suspension because you think it is a joke on most servers

 

I don't understand what you mean. '[Mod Removed]' means 'TheLeader1989', 'Fuhrer' is a german word, and 1989 means my birthyear. I refuse to understand why this violates the terms of use.

I also don't understand why you say that I should read the terms and rules again, I said that I decide to disagree with them and no longer want to play online.

I am looking for a way to change the name of my offline Xbox 360 profile or create a new one and transfer my stuff there, I don't really find your answer helpful with that.

just disconnect your console from the internet, now you have an offline profile, magic... and just because something is not offensive to you it could be to others.

Thanks, I have already tried that though, even when disconnected it will keep showing my profile as ''. I don't want to be greeted with that name every time I turn on my Xbox, what can I do?

You are right that others could find a name offensive maybe, in that case they should give the user atleast a chance to change it for free once IMHO instead of basically forcing them to pay $10 (which I'm not going to ofc).

 

Then create a new profile and don't connect to any internet game

It is a serious violation of most services and you should feel fortunate it didn't come with a suspension

 

And no you cannot move game saves or achievements

If You want to be a child about it

Actually such a name is an insult in German too

Anything to do with a certain party is politically and socially banned worldwide

Maybe you should look up your history to see why it is disgraceful or insult to a lot of people

 

But when I create a new profile how do I access my existing savegames and achievements? What about the stuff I purchased on Live?

I have played many online games for years, mostly with this name and it has never been a problem. A suspension would be ridiculous, are you forgetting I was a paying customer? I have never had any complaints on Xbox Live from anyone.

 

Nothing can be transferred between accounts. So if you create a new account, you would have to start over on game saves and achievements. As long as you're using the same console, you could still access the content you've downloaded.

It doesn't matter how long you've had a gamertag. It just means it took that long for someone to file a complaint on you and the enforcement team to find it.

Thanks for the helpful post. So, transferring stuff is impossible and also removing Xbox Live Access from a profile so that it's name can be changed for free offline is also impossible. What about the Change Microsoft Account option, is the stuff I purchased
and the saves/achievements linked to the Gamertag/Profile/Whatever or to the Microsoft Account? I'm finding all of this kinda confusing tbh.

Yeah I guess someone in a bad mood (or someone getting his *** kicked by me) associated my name with with a certain mustache'd person and hit the report button :/ I don't mean to offend anyone tbh

 

Changing the Microsoft account is basically just changing the email on the account. It won't allow any information to transfer between accounts.

The main reason they issue a new random Gamertag is because when they would force a gamer to change the Gametag for free the gamer would turn around and create yet another improper gamertag. By issuing a random name it frees up Enforcement to be able to
do more.
