gamertag changed unannounced

I tried to sign in like usual and it says I have to redownload my account. I do so and it starts downloading a different randomly generated gamertag.... I dont know if my gamertag was flagged or something but I have had this since the 360 came out so why
now? I had no notification that it was changed for any reason at all, and it picks this dumb random gamertag that I had no form in choosing whatsoever...this is honestly ridiculous because I have done nothing wrong and get no notification or warning about
my name this whole time til its just gone and now what? i have to pay to change it.... I have literally had xbox live since it came out, I deserve something to make this right and get my old gamertag back!

Need Tier 3 support!

You mean you want a name to be released that isn't yours nope tier 3 won't help you because a it is random and gamertag are not an on demand service when it becomes available it becomes available

As people do try and sell released names it is unannounced when they do if ever release certain gamertags

sorry once a game tag is reported and investigated and found offensive and the random tag is generated. you only have 2 options, one live with the new tag, or two pay the 10 bucks to change it to something else and remember keep your tag rated E for everyone
and too many forced name changes results in perm ban off of live. and the warning is the code of conduct that you agreed to when you signed up that says what you can and cannot have in your game tag, profile or bio.

 

Depends on what your old Gamertag was. It only takes 1 complaint for Enforcement to look into it. Regardless on how long you had it, your Gamertag was deemed in violation. They do not give you the chance to change it anymore thanks to people just changing
it over and over to some other obscene or illegal Gamertag. Again I have no clue what the name was just speculating why.

Enforcement does not read this forum ever. You can post here
forums.xbox.com/.../41.aspx to see why you were issued a Gamertag change. Otherwise you are now required to pay the 9.99 to change it.

 

The code of conduct that you agreed to was your warning,an email would of been sent to the address linked to your account as well.

Doesn't matter how long you have had the gamertag,it has only just been reported,investigated & found to be innapropiate.

When you are issued a forced name change you are given a randomly generated tag,if you want to change it to a personal one then you will have to pay.

Sorry but you will not get your old gamertag back.

Your gamertag must be rated "E" for everyone.

Funny that any random person can file a complaint (most likely because they were mad at the game or for losing) which takes 20 seconds to do and i have to pay $10. Anybody can say something is offensive to them for anything... I could even say that all
of your gamertags above are offensive, that doesn't mean that they are...im sorry but im not gonna make my gamertag "happygoluckyfriendlyguy1" if my name truly was offensive i shouldn't have been able to keep it for 7-8 years

 

Filing a complaint won't Deem a name offencive

it does not matter how long you had it

it is when a complaint is filed is when it is reviewed

If you creat d an offencive name 7years ago you need to grow up

ngocphi - First off, your spelling is offensive! I don't know if you think I am a little kid and can't understand that the filed complaint wasn't when I made the account... and telling me to grow up because I made an "offensive" name 7 years ago. really?
I wholeheartedly believe my gamertag was NOT offensive. sure maybe to some extremely small amount of people but realistically no and everybody ive spoken to about this, even microsoft employees agree. Not to mention how many other actual offensive names out
there that are vulgar and disgusting that absolutely need to be taken down. I most likely will have to pay for a name change but I truly wish there was an easier way to find out what happened and WHY. Like I said, I received NO email and nothing to let me
know what happened.

Support has no say over enforrcement issues

most of them are from overseas anyways so I'd throw a bucket of salt over anything they say about enforcement issues

no matter what you think the enforcement team has final say on all actions and gamertags

 

If you think having a vulgar gamer tag is mature you have a longs ways to go

nor does hiding it behind letters or numbers hide the meaning

Your name has to be rated E for everyone regardless of how you meant it
