Gamertag changed on its own

My husband reset our Xbox One to take it out of beta and when I logged back in, not only had it deleted my friends list but my gamertag was completely different. I have no idea what happened because the tag was in no way offensive, it was part of each of
our pets names 'samkatmieux'. I can see my profile still on my husband's account and its not like anyone else is using it. Very frustrated

update, I restarted my Xbox, and LITERALLY THE GAMERTAG CHANGED ON ITS OWN.

Gamer pic changed on its own.

If Microsoft had changed it, it would usually be for an enforcement issue. So you could check
http://enforcement.xbox.com to see if it shows anything there. Otherwise, unless you gave your account information to anyone else, it's most likely a glitch.

If your friends list is gone, messages, and the gamertag is different, you are more then likely signed into the wrong Microsoft account. Please double check the account details and ensure you're signed into the correct account. IF you are signed into the
correct account and you received a forced name change, you will need to go to
http://enforcement.xbox.com/ to file a case review if you would like to dispute it.

Each Microsoft account has its own gamertag. You can't switch gamertags with other accounts. You can only change the tag on the account.

If you want a new one, there's a charge to change your gamertag.

You can't just post on here hoping your gamertag will change on its own nor can we do anything about it on here.

You can change your gamertag on either Xbox.com or on your console.

You cant change your gamertag to one that someone has/ or had. Its probably been taken before then the person who owned it changed his/her gamertag but even then you still cant use that gamertag.
