  1. Gamertag Changed by XLCM after 10 YEARS!

My gamertag was clever, memorable, and had sentimental value to me. [Mod Removed]. I came up with it a decade ago and over that 10 year span haven't received a single complaint from another gamer, not about my name, or my demeanor. I play COD, 2k, Black
Ops, Fortnite, and other titles online. Not one complaint. So how is it that the XLCM team decides after 10 years that my name is offensive? Are these employees of microsoft? Or are they volunteers who also play games along side us? Do they have any kind of
oversight? Who's to say I didn't play one and kill him/her 10 times in one match and they decided to railroad me because they were granted power over their peers? I play against people who's gamertags reference murder, shooting in the head, puns about racism,
and my personal favorite doing drugs or drinking. Which is whatever because I support their ability to do so. However, to say that my gamertag was offensive over murder, racism and being high or drunk is beyond ludicrous.

So how do you contact the XLCM? You don't. Oh, wait. You get an appeal. Which I did immediately. I wrote that I had my tag for 10 years and had put work into it, and taint wasn't a bad word. My 8 and 7 year old boys could say it and I wouldn't bat an eye.
Did they even read it? IDK. I did get a response saying thank you so much for using our appeal process. Which might as well said we didn't read it but here's why it didn't matter. [Mod Removed]

I understand the need to police gaming to protect people from bullies, but a [Mod Removed]? They are like magic, they don't exist. I want my name back. Oh wait, the best part. The XLCM changes my name to DaintyFawn.... Dainty, growing up was a word people I
knew used as a homophobic slur. How is it that a mythological punch puts forth imagery of sexual abuse but using a homophobic slur in my new gamertag is acceptable? That's breaking your own rules, and showing me that clearly you were out to get me in some
    way.

Now there is no way to get a hold of the XLCM. I spoke with 3 different support employees and all of them agreed that this is out of line on all fronts. From taking away my gamertag to using a homophobic slur as it's replacement. But even THEY can't get
in touch with the XCLM... Finally on the last call I just asked for a credit to change my name for free since they want to charge me $10 to change it away from the slur they made it. After 10 years I remind you. But they couldn't do that either.

I've always said microsoft had 10x the customer service that Sony did and thats why I play xbox... Well I had to call Sony the other day for my son and they fixed my issues right away... Bad form XBOX... Bad form.

    :)

My gamertag was clever, memorable, and had sentimental value to me. Taintpunchasaur. I came up with it a decade ago and over that 10 year span haven't received a single complaint from another gamer, not about my name, or my demeanor. I play COD, 2k, Black

Did they even read it? IDK. I did get a response saying thank you so much for using our appeal process. Which might as well said we didn't read it but here's why it didn't matter. The XLCM tells me that to have the words Punch and Taint in my name brings about
imagery of sexual abuse.... I'm sorry, last time I checked they weren't teaching about the Taint in sex ed. The Taint isn't a sexual organ, nor is it involved in any dirty talk to my knowledge. It's a piece of skin. Nobody is calling the SVU claiming to have
their Taint roughed up by a hooligan. Not one college campus rape of the Taint has been reported. Not one #METOO has been brought forward involving abuse of the Taint. Can we guess why? It has nothing to do with sex. Or sexual abuse.

I understand the need to police gaming to protect people from bullies, but a Taint Punch? They are like magic, they don't exist. I want my name back. Oh wait, the best part. The XLCM changes my name to DaintyFawn.... Dainty, growing up was a word people I
knew used as a homophobic slur. How is it that a mythological punch puts forth imagery of sexual abuse but using a homophobic slur in my new gamertag is acceptable? That's breaking your own rules, and showing me that clearly you were out to get me in some

How old is your gamertag ???

Well, it says in my Xbox profile, that I have been subscribed for 10 years & since I never changed my Gamertag, I'm guessing 10 years.

It doesn't matter if you've had a name for 10 years or 10 minutes, if it violates the code of conduct you can get a forced name change. All that means is it took that long for someone to file a complaint and the enforcement team to take action. That is per
the rules you agreed to. A name doesn't necessarily have to be offensive to be changed, it just has to be a violation.

Submitting a case review is the only way to contact the enforcement team and if they upheld their decision, there is nothing else you can do. You will have to pay if you want to change your tag.

  5. My name didn't break any code of conduct that's the point. Nobody reported me, but that brings up an even better point. If I find your name offensive and can relate the letters in your name to something that hurts my feelings I can have you reported? That's
ridiculous. and if they agree with my take on it then you're out 10 bucks and a name you might've built an online identity around.

You're not made aware of complaints filed against you. So yes, someone could have reported you. It doesn't matter if you report someone because you think their gamertag is offensive, it's up to the enforcement team to determine if it actually violates the
code conduct. So you can have a million complaints filed against you and not have anything happen if you follow the code. The enforcement team would have told you it was a violation on the enforcement site as well as with your case review.

  7. So once again, someone could get their feelings hurt because I beat them in a video game, and then report me and undermine a decade worth of online presence? My reputation is bright green, which leads me to believe there is a lack of complaints against me.
Also once again, Taint isn't sexual at all, and they changed my gamertag to a homophobic slur. Which I find offensive. I'm sure they just randomly generate the names, but the fact that Dainty is acceptable but Taint isn't should go to show the complete lack
of continuity and abuse of one gamers power over another. The fact that once they rule decision upheld there is no way to speak to a human, and support people can't even contact them is disgusting. I'd love to see the numbers on how many appeals are overturned.
I'd love to know who the people are making moral decisions and exercising complete power over others. What makes their judgment so sound? Xbox is supposed to be creating a community of people from different backgrounds coming together to enjoy competition
and teamwork amongst each other in a world where being different from one another might usually breed contempt. But allowing a group to determine violations and pass judgment based on complaints of someone who might be a kid who just lost a match to that person
is not only morally corrupt, but ethically bankrupt. We should be allowed to view the complain if one was filed and defend ourselves from that. We don't need their name, just what we supposedly did. Regardless, the phrase Taint Punch doesn't exist outside
of me making it up, the taint is not sexual imagery, and I deserve to speak to a human and plead my case with all the facts before me, not just your name has been found to violate policy, end of discussion. There was no discussion. At the very least they should
make ME change it and give me the ability to do so without costing me more money. On top of the games, subscriptions, and consoles I buy and recommend. If my 5-7 games a year, new console every few and yearly xbox live subscription isn't worth $10 to microsoft,
then I guess I'll suck it up and start playing their crappy, overpriced competitor.

Only if you do something to violate the code of conduct.

Rep has nothing to do with suspensions, bans, or forced gamertag changes.

FYI, Playstation has the same rules. However, they do not allow name changes at all. So if your name violates their code of conduct, your entire account is banned. So really, it's worth it to pay $10 to keep your account.
