[Mod Removed]? my account name was found inappropriate after nearly 4 years of use which i find to be unfair especially since my name was changed to something a little dumb. and you expect me to pay to change it. I used that gamer tag for
a very long time with nothing happening. it was fine until now? I would like to try and get my gamer tag back or since you guys changed it after 1000$s of dollars I've spent on live and xbox related products i should get a free gamer tag change. Can you please
tell me why it is inappropriate. Short story short I've been a loyal customer to you guys for a very long time i would be like to be given a far chance to defend my gamer tag and find a better solution. Maybe you could send an email warning to the possessors
of inappropriate gamer tags for them to find there own solution. People who complain could be just people who are mad at loosing to the person with the "gamertag" in question.

Xbox one followers privacy/spam concerns. END IT

Even if you change your Gamertag, you purchases and saves are still locked to your account. I could change my gamertag right now and I still have everything. It stays with the email address you signed up with, not gamertag.

 

Need your opinion about a couple of gamer profiles

It cost 800 Microsoft Points to change a gamertag, $10. Change your gamertag of the one you like to something else, and then change the other one to the gamertag you like. $20 investment and your playing on the gamertag you want to play on, and you have the achievements to show off your progression of games.

However, the warning you receive is the code of conduct you agree to when you sign up for Live. It doesn't matter why someone files a complaints, it only takes one for the enforcement team to investigate your account and if they determine that your gamertag
violates the code, then they will issue a forced name change.

 

As far as why it took so long, no one may have filed the complaint till just recently. It doesn't matter how much money you spend with xbox, if your gamertag is offensive, you will not be able to keep it. Just because you have money to throw at your xbox
doesn't give you any privileges over those who don't. As far as your notification, due to the high volume of people creating offensive gamertags knowing they will get a free change, they changed how offensive gamertags get changed. They will change it to a
randomly generated one and you will have to pay the fee to change it. Be sure, whenever/if you ever change it, that you select something appropriate this time.

 

So itz Tanner 420 i can report your name cause it actually7 represents illegal substances in many parts of the world 420? a time and date representing the express use of marijuana? i find great offence to your actual ILLEGAL DRUG representation in your name?

He's an Ambassador, not a Microsoft employee. He doesn't get paid anything by Microsoft or Xbox. Ambassadors are Xbox community members who volunteer their time to helping other users. They can be identified by the little laurel wreath badge on their forum
gamercards, which have either a star or number in them.

Typically, though, the number 420 on its own does not necessarily refer to drugs. It would be context that decided that.

Unfortunately though, many people notice 420 as a drug reference. Even if you did not intend it to be that way, in most cases people will take it the wrong way.

 

Buddy of mine has 420 in his tag, guess what? come on guess.

It's his birthday...

If it offends you, file a report and it will get looked into. I am just saying that context would decide whether or not the Enforcement Team were to take action on it - and by context I mean the rest of the Gamertag, the profile, bio, motto and so on. If
they all also refer to or insinuate drug use/culture, it is more likely that action would be taken than if you simply have the number and nothing else referring to it.
