Gamertag Change

Recently, my name was changed to appear as if I was in a clan, but I wasnt the one who actually changed it and I was wondering if I could revert, or atleast change my name again (for free). If looking under my accounts recent actions you can see that it
was only changed the other day. Thank you.

Even if you change your Gamertag, you purchases and saves are still locked to your account. I could change my gamertag right now and I still have everything. It stays with the email address you signed up with, not gamertag.

It cost 800 Microsoft Points to change a gamertag, $10. Change your gamertag of the one you like to something else, and then change the other one to the gamertag you like. $20 investment and your playing on the gamertag you want to play on, and you have the achievements to show off your progression of games.

 

You will first need to open an unauthorised access case to determine how and by whom your account was accessed.

I suggest you call support and find out the details.

 

I read it, customer support would not tell you to come to the forum and make up a story.

Customer support are in fact the only ones that could give you a free change, no one here can.

Several people on your friends list have the same clan tag, so clearly they are still your friends.

The only people that could change your tag for free are the ones that sent you here.

No one works for Microsoft here, sorry I didnt know that seeing that it said official site on the home page, and no, the people in the online chat CANNOT change my gamertag.

 

At no point did you say you were on the online chat support, you told me customer support.

Were you chatting to an xbox live employee or an ambassador?

Phone support are the only ones that can give you a free change, seeing as you have already said your story is made up and you did change it yourself, its highly unlikely you will get a free change.

Thanks for the definition of liar... a good example of a liar could be someone who makes up a story about having their account accessed and gamertag changed by someone else, for the purpose of getting a free change??

 

it was an employee WHO TOLD ME TO LIE, if you didnt read the text... I can see where you find the employees or the online volunteer. Please, don't get in business you're not a part of.

 

If you don`t want people to get involved, don`t post on public forums or send them private messages.

Then yes, i guess it was an xbox employee that told you to lie, i suggest you get back in touch with them and ask them why.

 

If you didn't change your tag who did?

Either way,you will have to pay to change it back,the enforcement team are the only ones who can give you a free tag change & that's when your tag violates the CoC,which yours does not.Even then,you don't get to pick the tag you're given.
