Gamertag change with # numbers

Hey guys,

I would like to change on my 2. Account my gamertag and everytime comes up a #--- number if i select it. If I try it on my main account there comes none of this numbers is this a bug, issue or something else?

This is normal. If its giving you #s at the end of the gamertag than this means someone else already has that same gamertag without the #s.

Thank you, I ask this because when you have numbers after the # symbol. For the system it means that your have the OzzyKP gamertag.

In order to change OzzyKP5721 to the one without numbers, you may need to change first that gamertag to a completely different gamertag, for example, change OzzyKP5721 to OzzyKKPP and then check if OzzyKP without the numbers appears

PS: But keep in mind that this doesn't guaranteed that you're going to see the gamertag without the numbers available

I have changed my gamertag and when I am online playing games it will show up as User and then have a lot of numbers. I even paid to have my gamertag changed and it still does the same thing. Is there a way I can change this. I want for the right gamertag to show up when I am online.

It means someone else already had the same gamertag as you.

Whenever you change your gamertag to something that someone is already using itll put numbers at the end to differentiate you and other players who have the same gamertag.

Itll show you how your gamertag would look before completing the purchase including if it will have numbers at the end.

The only way to get a gamertag without the numbers at the end would be to change it to one no one else has.

Number cannot be changed you would have to change your gamertag.

since a few months, back Xbox changed Gamertag to less character but included # at end, this is the new system, so changing or creating Gamertags now will give you numbers on the end, only those who kept original Gamertags from before the change get the OG
tags without numbers.
