Gamertag Change Question

If I were to change my gamertag, would it erase my current game saves, such as in The Master Chief Collection?

Gamertag change question.

Is it at all possible to change my gamertag from to ? Obviously it is considered the same gamertag and therefore it says 'gamertag already exist' if I try to change it. However, since I own the gamertag and all I want to do is
capitalize the B and W, is there any possible way I can do so?

It's a Glitch either just give it some time or try to Recover (Download) your Profile again.

Shouldn't do, none of my saves were affected when i changed mine

Nope. I've changed my tag a few times and it never affected my saves.

Of course not. If it did then no one ever change their Gamertags.

[/quote]In short, yes. You'll have to pay 800 points to free up the name on gamertag A, and another 800 to change Gamertag B to Gamertag A. I've done this before. It may not be instant that the name becomes available again, however.

nope nothing can be done if it is not selectable then it is not selectable your just gonna have to create a more creative tag FYI tags are also used for windows live PC games as well as Zune and Xbox live.

Thank you both for the helpful responses. Had i been able to find these in the rules i could have saved you both time in reading this long rant/post. It would be hoo of the xbox team to incorporate a more detailed gamertag. It has been a while since i thought
of attempting to change my tag so i suppose the changes regarding symbols was a new piece of info. Thank you again.
