Gamertag change issue.

I'm confused, I created my Microsoft account and then added an Xbox gamertag which was one of the randomly created ones. I then used my free change to well change it to something I preferred.

My issue is that when I sign into Xbox.com it shows the gamertag I created myself, if I then click on that gamertag and select profile from the menu it shows the original randomly generated gamertag, if I then click the back button on IE it still shows the
randomly created gamertag. On my Xbox One for some reason I can't figure out if I sign into the account it shows my chosen gamertag, if I then opt to look at my achievements it shows both that randomly generated gamertag with a Gamerscore and the gamertag
I chose with no Gamerscore.

The randomly chosen gamertag shows as a gold account even though I don't have gold yet and the gamertag I chose as a silver account.

Confused ? I sure am

I tried removing and adding the account back again but it still shows the same thing.

Ah... that was the issue. I didn't realize spaces didn't matter. Ah well, I'll keep searching for something. Thanks.

Gamertag Change Issue

So I'm trying to change my Gamertag, but I'm running into an issue. The 'Tag I'm trying to change mine to does not exist yet, to my knowledge, as I've tried sending it Friend Requests (error message, probably on account it doesn't exist), searching various
Gamertag Checkers (curiously enough, most of them said it was available while only one said otherwise), and by doing some profile searches on Google (sorry Bing). So why can't I change my 'Tag? It's obviously available, it doesn't violate the ToS, so what's
the issue? Bring me your knowledge, internet people and Microsoft, in the words of the great Phillip J. Fry, "Shut up and take my money!"

The gamertag it's showing here is the one I created. However up in the top right of this window it's showing the original randomly generated gamertag !!!!

Did you try logging out of the forums then logging back in. You should go ahead and clear the cookies and cache on your browser. Give that a try and let us know. Good Luck!!

Hey there, F1R3ASSAS1N411! You are able to change your gamertag for free within the first 30 days. After that 30 days, you will need to pay to change it if you are not happy with it anymore. Previously, we offered free gamertag changes when you received
a forced name change as well, but that has since been discontinued. This definitely seems like something that would do terrific over on our
Feedback site, though! That's where we collect all the suggestions that users like yourself have.

Except on psn you can't change your name

fyi you should feel privileged to even have the ability to have a name change Lord

10bucks is nothing maybe a change of priorities is in order ?

It's 10-25bucks on most gaming services

not to mention you don't get the weekly maintaince that occurs on psn

A forced name change won't solve your issue

Fyi read the terms of use

Forced name changes only occur when the name violated the terms of use

Also you get a random name issued during one after which you need to pay 10bucks to change it

maybe you should think about your priorities

Hey, Paiste! That shouldn't affect it at all. I've ran into another user that is having the same issue in game with Gears 2 and 3 with their friends.

Is it that the party option in these games is now grayed out for you? That is what another user is running into, and if you guys are both doing it, I'd like to work with you to see if we can fix it.

Hey, Paiste! You will not be able to play in parties in game with users on Xbox One consoles while you are playing 360 games. You will need to create an Xbox One party on the console to be in a party with those users. You should be able to create parties
in game for 360 games with other 360 users by pressing the Menu and View buttons on your controller while in the 360 game to bring up the 360 Guide. Party options should be on the first slide there.
