This gets intense, nothing mean is meant by it.

I just think that if you're paying for a yearly gold member ship, then why should you have to pay to change your GT? If we pay for Gold, should we not get to change our GT? PSN is free to use the internet service, yet on Xbox we pay to use it.
You guys at Microsoft obviously get enough revenue to give the Games With Gold service that you offer. So why can't we change our GT whenever we want? I have been told that something like this may happen for 12M card users, I get that this
may happen in the future, but what about now? I am sure there are many people out there who have made their account years ago (Like me) have since decided that looking at this same GT now, one that has become 'outdated' and probably childish
(As mine is fairly), would wish to change it for a bit of, for use of a better word, diversity in their profile. And what about the people who can't afford this? People that spend all they can just to stay on Gold? They have shown (Like me) loyalty to this
company and in some cases, would like just a little return for their efforts. Gold, per year, costs something around like $70. Why can't changing your GT for "free" be included in that cost?

You might argue that the Enforcement Team uses the GT to carry out investigations, yet we have a Microsoft Account linked to it, something that defines that profile forever, so why might this be the case? Why not have some sort of 'Account Code' or 'Number'
that people can see to report. Plus, if someone were to report you for being offensive, would they not do it there and then? Rather then waiting a few days to report it? Plus, if a player were to report a message, that message is in their inbox, which would
mean they could have contact with that profile with no hassle at all.

I have been a member of XBL Gold for over 3 years now, and I just think a little return would be nice. I have been harassed and received hate lately for my GT, on Facebook, at school, Google+, what about people like me? People that want to get away from
that problem of being hated for a childish, or a GT with too many numbers, or anything like that.

I'm not trying to sound mean or anything, I'm just a little annoyed that free GT changes is not a thing, and has not been for as long as I can remember

I think I have conveyed my point fairly, and I ask this, just this once, could a force GT change occur for a valued and loyal customer in need?

So I'm trying to change my Gamertag, but I'm running into an issue. The 'Tag I'm trying to change mine to does not exist yet, to my knowledge, as I've tried sending it Friend Requests (error message, probably on account it doesn't exist), searching various
Gamertag Checkers (curiously enough, most of them said it was available while only one said otherwise), and by doing some profile searches on Google (sorry Bing). So why can't I change my 'Tag? It's obviously available, it doesn't violate the ToS, so what's
the issue? Bring me your knowledge, internet people and Microsoft, in the words of the great Phillip J. Fry, "Shut up and take my money!"

You do have the chance to change your gamertag for free within the first 30 days you create it. If not, it's going to cost you $10.00

Except on psn you can't change your name

fyi you should feel privileged to even have the ability to have a name change Lord

10bucks is nothing maybe a change of priorities is in order ?

It's 10-25bucks on most gaming services

not to mention you don't get the weekly maintaince that occurs on psn

A forced name change won't solve your issue

Fyi read the terms of use

Forced name changes only occur when the name violated the terms of use

Also you get a random name issued during one after which you need to pay 10bucks to change it

maybe you should think about your priorities

it does cost nothing.

Hold your money together, then 10€ is a sixpack, a few cigs, maybe a dvd or whatever you might want to buy less. But its nothing that will kill you.

 

I feel a slight change in topic coming along here.

For one, ngocphi, you speak of money as if anyway could afford the simplest things, yet there are people in this world who go days without food, did you not think of this when you posted? I feel almost as if it was a haste response not thoroughly thought
out, not thinking about others around you. Just because you may be able to afford said things, does not mean everyone can. My Dad is currently going through a midlife crisis, nearly going bankrupt and having girlfriend and family issues to, I'm one of the
only few people that still contact him and enjoy it. So coming at me like that, saying '10bucks is nothing maybe a change of priorities is in order ?', is not a path to be lightly threaded upon. Also, saying that it only occurs when a violation of the terms
of use occurs? One could argue the contains the word ***, F1R3'***'AS1N411. Is that not a breach in any way shape or form?

You say think ahead, but how often do you yourself think ahead? We all make mistakes do we not? And do we not take head of said mistakes and learn from them? Thinking ahead is done rarely nowadays, and it is a characteristic to be treasured should one have
it.

You then go on to say this, 'Not being able to afford something is no reason to make something free. I cant afford a car, so should the gas be free then?', first, I'm a guy that likes to pick on the little things (It gets me in trouble a lot). If you can't
afford a car, then why the he'll make gas free? Make the car free, but also the gas. Now my main point on this, and this is my personal opinion, don't hate it just understand it. I would have loved to live in the days where everyone shared, and all was free,
trades may have been in order back then but it was generally small things to trade. My ideal world would be a post apocalyptic one, one in which all of electrical technology has been rendered useless, money doesn't exist, we all share what we have, we eat
together, and sleep as a community, a great look on this is the book trilogy, 'The Eden Trilogy'. But hey, that's what I, and possibly others, think about life.

And lastly, I am not quite sure as to what you mean by this, 'A Microsoft Account can be easily changed and it does cost nothing.', could you please elaborate?

Hey there, F1R3ASSAS1N411! You are able to change your gamertag for free within the first 30 days. After that 30 days, you will need to pay to change it if you are not happy with it anymore. Previously, we offered free gamertag changes when you received
a forced name change as well, but that has since been discontinued. This definitely seems like something that would do terrific over on our
