Gamertag Change Error | Customer Supporr Problem

Hello,

My current gamertag is (due to revealing information as it is my area code) and I have recently attempted to change it to “Wadu Hek”. Unforuntaly, when attempting to change it to the new gamertag, I was prompted that the name isn’t available.
However, after looking up said gamertag, I found out that it has not been taken. I then called customer support three times, who offered no help whatsoever and abruptly hung up on me two of the three times (one of which was a supervisor), which I found to
be extremely and utterly unprofessional.

Furthermore, since the call center customer support representatives were of no help, I decided to reach out to the forums in order to straighten the issue out. Now to get the primary issue of the gamertag change, I wish to change my gamertag as to the one
mentioned above ( (as it is available according to al of the research I have performed despite the error message above).

Lastly, I wish to report a complaint to the representatives I spoke with, everything should have been recorded and I expected at least a small degree of professionalism from these individuals.

Gamer profile issue

Problem solved created a new sdult profile and linked it old gamertag. Then changed settings and now can play online!

 

If the system says a tag is taken, then it's taken. The gamertag system is in use on other Microsoft services, so even if it's not in use on an Xbox, it may in use somewhere else. Also. the system doesn't see things like spaces as making gamertag unique.
So while you've been looking it up as "Wadi Hek" it is in use as Waduhek
